I received a call from the manager of the hospice I had interviewed at a few weeks ago and the job I didn't get. She called to tell me that they weren't able to offer me the job b/c an internal candidate applied and the policy is they have to hire them if they are qualified. She said they were disappointed they couldn't hire me. She said I had fantastic assessment skills and would have been a great value to them. She said she always keeps applicants on file she was impressed with, even if she couldn't hire them and said she is often called by the manager of the hospital asking for any candidates they couldn't hire and will be passing along my information if there is an opening. She said she really hoped they could work with me in the future and again were disappointed they couldn't hire me. I thanked her and said even though she wasn't calling with good news, it was a huge boost to my confidence to know that and appreciated what she said.
My second interview with the other hospice went well too, except I just interviewed with some social workers there and not the supervisor. So I'm not sure what to expect next, but after the phone call, I'm super hopeful!!
