Slow Cooker Recipes..

give me your favorite one. I was on facebook yesterday and few of you ladies had some great recipes. I was going to post this last night bc TN was acting up on me. So lets do a recipe exchange for slow cookers! It can be whatever, desserts, appetizers, ect.

I don't really have one that is my fave yet, bc I just started cooking with it last night and that roast I made didn't taste all that good. I did find one for a cake recipe that I do want to try.

Crockpot Cake

1 cake mix, any brand any flavor
1 small box instant pudding; use the same flavor as the cake
12 ounces sour cream
4 eggs
3/4 cups oil
1 cup water

Spray inside of crackpot with nonstick cooking spray. Mix all ingredients together and pour in crockpot. Cook on low for about 6 hours. Turn crockpot off and let sit for about 1 to 2 hours. Then you can flip it out onto a plate. If you do not let it cool long enough before taking it out of the crockpot half of it stays in the crock.

  • This crockpot meatloaf recipe is made with chopped onion, lean ground beef, soft bread crumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and other seasonings.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 egg
    • 1 cup finely chopped onion
    • 1 cup soft torn bread crumbs
    • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
    • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
    • 1 cup ketchup, divided

    Preparation:

    Spray crockpot with butter-flavored cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, egg, mustard, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, and 1/2 cup ketchup. Shape mixture into a ball and place in slow cooker. Spread remaining ketchup over top of loaf. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours.

  • I've got a great BBQ beef brisket recipe.  I'll add it tonight when I get home.
  • I've got a good meatball recipe my grandma gave me but I can't remember one of the ingredients. I'll have to post it later.

    Here's my favorite, it's Taco Soup, I think I posted it on TK a few months ago.

    --2 cans of kidney beans
    --2 cans of pinto beans
    --2 cans of corn
    --1 large can of diced tomatoes
    --1 can tomatoes and chiles
    --1 packet taco seasoning
    --1 packet ranch dressing mix
    --1 lb browned ground turkey or hamburger (optional.)

    --shredded cheese and sour cream for embelishment

    Just brown the ground turkey (healthy!) or hamburger and drain, put it in the crock pot, sprinkle the seasonings on the meat. Rinse and drain all of the beans and put them in, then add in the entire contents of the tomatoes and corn. Cook on low 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours. the longer you cook it the more delicious it is :) It makes quite a bit, but it freezes well. It's amazing with cheese, sour cream, sliced olives and some tortilla chips :) MMMMMM I want it now... hahaha. I try to keep enough stuff for a batch in the pantry at all times :)

    Recipe is from Crockpot 365, a great blog with TONS of crockpot recipes! They are all gluten free (as long as you get the gluten free options like with the taco seasoning and ranch mix and whatnot)

  • I love Crockpot 365, too! http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/

    This, however, is not from Crockpot 365. This is from, of all places, a blog on the Chronicle of Higher Education's website. But the recipe is awesome, especially for summer.

    Carolina BBQ Pork
    Ingredients

        * 2 onions, quartered.
        * 2 T. brown sugar
        * 1 T. paprika
        * 2 t. salt
        * 1/2 t. pepper
        * Pork loin roast (2-4 pounds)
        * 1/3 c. cider vinegar
        * 2 t. Worcestershire sauce
        * 3/4 t. crushed red pepper flakes
        * 3/4 t. sugar
        * 1/4 t. dry mustard
        * 1/4 t. garlic salt
        * 1/8 t. cayenne pepper
        * Hamburger buns

    Directions: Place onions in crockpot. Combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, pepper and rub over pork. Place pork on onions. In a bowl, mix the remaining ingredients except hamburger buns. Drizzle over roast. Cook on low 10 hours (high 5-6). Shred meat, chop onions. Serve meat and onions on toasted hamburger buns, with bottled bbq sauce on the side.

  • We got a new crockpot w/a timer on it for our wedding, and I am LOVING IT!!!  I had a regular one before, without the timer, but I was sooooo badly coveting one with a timer.  This one automatically flips to "keep warm" setting after the timer ends.  LOVE IT.  I am also using the Pampered Chef chopper we got, and that is another thing I will probably never again do without in my kitchen.

    I have a fantastic bean soup recipe.  We actually just finished the leftovers from it last night.  It was the best bean soup I've ever made!  (Keep in mind, I cook for a small army, so you may want to half the recipe.)

    1 lb navy beans (I used dried navy beans, soaked all night then drained, rinsed & put in crockpot)
    8-10 cups water
    3 carrots (or several baby carrots), diced
    2 lg potatoes, diced
    3 celery stalks, diced
    1 hamhock (for flavoring)
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    seasoned to taste with salt & pepper

    I'm totally doing this by memory, as I normally just go crazy when I'm crockpot-ing and add a dash of this & a pinch of that, so I hope I didn't forget anything.  If I did, I'll add it later.

    Basically, you just throw it all in the crockpot on high for 8 hours and voila!  Serve it up w/some cornbread.  Delish!

  • Knife & Fork Barbecued Brisket Sandwiches

    Ingredients:
    1 (3 lb) beef brisket, trimmed
    2 Tablespoons all-purpose floor
    2 large onions, thinly sliced and divided
    1 teaspoon black pepper
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 (12 ounce) bottle chili sauce
    1/2 cup light beer
    2 Tablespoons brown sugar
    1 Tablespoon prepared horseradish
    4 large garlic cloves, minced or 1 Tablespoon bottled minced garlic
    12 (1 ounce) slices barbeque bread with sesame seeds, toasted ( I
    just use hamburger buns)

    1. Cut brisket into 4 pieces.  Dredge pieces in flour, reserving any
    remaining flour
    2.  Place half of onion in 4 or 6-quart electric slow cooker, and top
    with beef.  Sprinkle with reserved flour, pepper, and salt.  Arrange
    remaining half of onion over beef.
    3.  Combine chili sauce and next 4 ingredients in a small bowl and
    stir well.  Pour over beef mixture.  Cover and cook on HIGH for 1
    hour.  Reduce heat to LOW and cook 7 to 8 hours or until beef is
    tender.  Remove beef.
    4.  Shred beef with 2 forks, return beef to cooker and stir well.
    Spoon beef over toasted bread.

    Yields 12 servings (3/4 cup beef and 1 slice toast)

  • Dear All of You,

     I love you.  I truly do.  We got a slowcooker for our wedding but have only used it once because I had no idea what kind of recipes we could make in it.  Lets keep this thread alive, because I think that this slowcooker could potentially change my life, hahaha!!  All of these recipes sound fantastic, I can't wait to try some of them.  And I had NO IDEA you could make a cake in a slowcooker - I am not so culinary.
