our herbs are really exploding right now, so I am planning to make some red pepper pesto this week (calls for basil and parsley) and some regular basil pesto to freeze. I'm also making a lasagna that calls for lots of fresh parsley.
Trying to figure out what to do with my chives though, other than put them in mashed/baked potatoes!
Here are the recipes I'm making this week from my garden:

Re: anyone cooking from their garden yet?
Wow, I am jealous.
I just planted several of my garden boxes (herbs and veggies) today so we won't be eating anything for at least a month.
I can't wait for my basil gets big enough to make more than one tiny serving of pesto.
I like pureeing chives in homemade vinaigrette, adding to omelets, mixing with cream cheese for a bagel or cracker spread.
my read shelf:
We are swimming in herbs - cilantro, parsley, basil, thyme, dill - radishes are great, lettuce is yummy and we have lots of flowers-- tomato, peppers, beans, zucchini, cucumber.
Second round of lettuce is planted, so hopefully when this batch is done the next will be ready to join us.
Kel, I just looked at your wedding pic in your sig and was like, "hey, that's the bell event centre!"
that's where my reception was too! beautiful pic!
Salads have started with last year's onions and fresh radishes. I've got kale and collards ready as well. Chard is juuuuuuuuuust about ready for picking.
Peppers and tomatoes won't be up for another month or so though.

A Spring Day on the Katy Trail
A handful of Cilantro and a single snow pea pod.
It's been pretty wet and cool here, so the growing season is a little behind. I have lots of flowers, so I'm thinking that all we need is more than 1 1/2 days of sun in a row and we'll have something I can actually use.
I had to throw the lettuce away. It was growing weird, and a Google search told me that lettuce going to seed was usually the result of exposure to very cold temps, and the lettuce would probably be bitter. I tasted it, and sure enough, it was bitter. I dumped it, and planted more this weekend. I hope it's not too late in the season for it to grow. I think we're still a long way from warm temps, which won't help my peppers, but should help the lettuce.
just the basil and mint so far but it's tons! i have to get going on making pesto and moitos
or freezing
