Most households have some combo of phone, internet, cable, cell phone bills.
We have cable, internet, phone, 3 cell phone, internet phone, web page/godaddy, cell forwarding service, and some other mystery thing that DH explained to me once. As well as all the other 1 time purchases for household netowrk equipment that I KNOW we don't need b/c no other houses need it.
It is annoying.
Not to mention the 2 credit monitoring services that DH has - yet when our 401k info was stolen with DH's laptop bag, we still had to pay an additional $30/each to lock down our social security numbers from fraud.
Ugh...every month when I pay bills i ask him to thin this down...and every month is seems like he finds a new thing/service that we HAVE to have to run the computers/phone/security system here.
Re: My life as the wife of a Computer/Network guy...
That a lot! Your bills must be huge. We have a cable/internet package and two cell phones on a family plan with texting and data packages. No land line. Other than the data package, our only splurges are DVR, HBO and Netflix. And I'm going to cancel HBO as soon as Entourage/True Blood is over.
I'm late to this, but I wanted to say I feel your pain!
It's always the latest gadget or gizmo to make something safer, or run faster, etc. Kind of a good thing we're running on a tight budget right now, so he can't buy all that he wants.
