So out of all the girls who got waffle machines for thier wedding who has made waffles?

I'm making my first batch today but we only got our wedding presents delivered on Thursday and DH was out of town friday and sat :(

Re: Waffles?

  • We got ours as a shower gift in late March.  And we still haven't used it.  :/

We have absolutely no room in our house for kitchen electrics other than a microwave and toaster.  So everything else we got is stored at my parents'.

But we will be at their house in two weeks with my sister and her family, so we're going to break out the wafflemaker there for all 6 adults and 3 kids.  Should be great fun!!

I couldn't deal with that! We moved out of our appartment mostly because my kitchen stuff wouldn't fit in the kitchen and I still got more! I LOVE kitchen things but to be honest I do use my kitchen things :) I bake a lot! The guys at work blame me for their stomachs :)

  • I've used ours twice already! My recommendation is to search online for recipes rather than just use the ones that come with the wafflemaker. My first batch, I used the "Quick waffles" recipe that came with our wafflemaker, and they were OK, but the second batch of cinnamon waffles were awesome, and I got the recipe online.
  • I use mine every Sunday =)  yummy!

The Benhams: Married May 1st, 2010! Anniversary
  • I haven't used ours since before the wedding, I'm thinking of trying a healthy high protein recipe next weekend, since starting this week we are on a healthy kick hehe :)

  • No waffle maker here, but we used the griddle we got for the first time this morning to make strawberry pancakes.  We got it too hot so they were a little burnt, but still delicious.

  • We've used ours about 3 times since we got it as a wedding gift.  I need a good recipe though, Aunt Jemima's not cuttin it.  She makes pancakes, not waffles.

  • There's a really good boxed (I know, I know, but trust me!) Belgian waffle mix by a company called Krustees or something (yes, sounds gross).  It's just the right amount of sweet, and super easy.  The only issue we've had is that we haven't quite figured out how long to cook them to get them crisp but not burned...

  • We tried that!  Maybe I just have the idea of the flavor of the Belgian waffles wrong, but it wasn't that great.
