scatterbrainliz - Water Question

You said in another thread that you should water in the AM and afternoon, never at dusk.

Why is that?

Thanks.

Re: scatterbrainliz - Water Question

  • When you water after dusk, the water just sits around the roots and may cause root rot which will kill the entire plant especially in humid weather.  When it's really hot, it's best to water your vegetables twice esp. early in the AM & afternoon.  When you water during the day, the plant has enough time for some water evaporation so it doesn't just pool around the roots.

    Makes sense. Thanks.
