Foreclosures

So my husband and I are looking into buying a foreclosure. I signed up for this free trial foreclosure listing but it is giving me a huge headache! It's hard to know if we are interested in looking at one b/c the listing is basically an adress that tells us how many bed/baths are there. No pictures or anything, There's gotta be an easier way. Any of you ladies that have looked into/ bought a foreclosure have any advice for me? Thanks in advance!

Re: Foreclosures

  • between zillow and local real estate websites, we made a list of about 25 places (we were looking anywhere and everywhere) and took a Saturday to check out the places. We were able to knock most of the out by just looking at them. We ended up looking more seriously at a few with a REA, but you have to move fast if you see one you really like. There were a few under contract even though they were still listed.

  • Also check your county auditor's site.  They will have a picture plus the basic house info, taxes, etc.  Zillow is also a great resource.
  • We bought one in 2007.  DH happened to see it listed the very day it came out.  He was stalking sibcy cline's website and noticed it was "bank owned."

Ditto pp though- if you find one you want, you have to act very quickly.  We did work with a REA, and when we saw some we liked, we went and looked at them.

  • Most banked-owned properties are still on the MLS so realtors can find them. If you have the address or the MLS number, you can look it up on this site and see the details: http://nky.rapmls.com
