I hope it's ok to post here -this is my first time! I live in S. Fla. and my DH recently had to replace a nice sized patch of St. Augustine sod in our front yard. Although he thought he dug out enough dirt to make this patch level with the rest of the lawn, he didn't. There is clearly an elevation difference - it's about 30 squares of sod that he replaced and it looks like crap. Any suggestions for fixing this problem? If we have to dig that out, can we save the sod? I hate to waste the $$. We are pretty tight on funds.
Re: Sod/Grass Question?
If he did it within the past few days, he can just pick them up and dig it out and lay them back. I don't believe they root into your soil for about 10 days.
They will sink down a little. A neighbor used squares of sod to patch her yard - there was a big difference at first, but it's smaller now.
