I finished!
I finished the half marathon! I'm so happy. 
It took 2 hours and 40 minutes but we didn't run a whole lot (probably ran 4 to 5 miles of it, and power walked 5 or 6 miles, and walked the remaining 2 to 3 miles). Officially we finished 3rd and 4th of the walkers although one girl actually cheated and rode on the back of a truck for around 2 miles. She came in 2nd officially. While walking we could look back in some places and see people and we saw the girl at least 2 miles behind us (the way the road turned, it was easy to see her in her neon yellow). around 5 minutes later, we rounded a corner to a water station and to take a stretch break and suddenly she appeared (right after a truck drove past). Her mom even questioned how she got ahead of us - her mom was walking with her and said that her daugher split from her around mile 7. Mile 10 was where she caught up with, and passed, us. I also talked to the lady running one of the water stations who said to me (without my asking) "You and your friend were so far ahead of everyone. It was almost 30 minutes before we saw someone else behind you!"
Anyway, it doesn't matter. I got a medal. I'm happy.
We started the race an HOUR late though because the lady in charge was running late. That was annoying especially since the people doing the timing machine didn't know we started late (it was a handheld timer rather than a chip timer) and our times reflect it took an extra hour. I'm pretty sure if we had started on time we would have been faster though - it got HOT fast. We started at 7 instead of 6, and by 8 it was almost 85!

That's kind of my reaction. WTF? But whatever. If it was that important to her to come in 2nd without actually coming in 2nd, I don't care.
