Granite countertops
Hey ladies,
We decided to redo our countertops in our kitchen and I wanted to see if anyone could recommend someone to do this? If anyone's done this before, did you go to the big stores like home depot or use a smaller local contractor? Any advice would be great!

Austin Granite Direct has been used and loved by many Nesties on here (myself included).
Great prices, great service, perfect installation. You do have to pick from the granite they have on site (and I looved most of their choices), but if they have something you like - you can get a great deal!
We went with one of the granite installers our gen contractor recommended and would highly recommend them again. They were really professional and really went out of their way to find us the specific slabs with the right vein lines. The installation was exceptional -you can't see the seams (2) at all in the countertop - everyone always compliments us on it.

ditto Austin Granite Direct - although we went to the slab yard and picked out our exact slab. we had thousands and thousands to choose from, so we didn't have the limited stock problem the pp mentioned.
they were nearly 50% cheaper than the big box stores and included teardown, installation, a free sink, disposal of our old stuff. the only thing they don't do is the plumbing, although they can recommend someone if you don't want to do it yourself and don't already have a plumber in mind.
they also come out to your house to measure and bring a ton of samples so you can see what it looks like with your cabinets/floors. i think they installed it within a week of us choosing the granite.
ditto this. another rec for them. we also got a quote from home depot and austin granite was much cheaper. i love my counters!
The prices are much less expensive. The service is wonderful. Trent (the guy who runs the place) is SO helpful (and my DD has had a crush on his son for two years now). We had a few difficult seams and they worked on them until they were perfect!
I love my counters and ever more, I loved the price!!
i just went through a huge remodel and I have to agree Austin Granite Direct does have awesome prices. I went with Anna from Legacy Stone - (512) 736-1938. She is a smaller company but very accomodating and very cheap prices! I got my black pearl granite for about 13.50/sq ft and they did a great job installing it.
