Re: Now im a Maid of Honor

  • The best thing my MOH did was take over my cell phone on wedding day. She took charge of the time and took any phone calls to my cell. I was able to just sit there and get ready.

Oh and for my wedding she made us the coolest frame with the speech she wrote for our big day. It was super sweet and meaningful. It had pictures from age of 5 til my bachelorette party. It was the greatest.

  • Just being there, willing to help! I didn't ask for much help from my MOH, she just came dress shopping with me and my mom, and came with me when I picked up my dress, and made our hair and makeup appointments. We planned the bachelorette party before I knew anything about how it was supposed to work so she and I planned the whole thing and I actually paid for most of it, but she hooked up with the other bridesmaids and got me gifts and they made tank tops that we all wore when we were getting ready for the wedding :) Oh and her and her fiancee (also the best man) came cake tasting with us, which was  ton of fun!! They'll be getting married in the  next couple of years hopefully so I'll get to be her MOH and I'm super excited :)

  • I'm going to be a MOH, too. Complicating things a bit is the fact that the bride and her fiance are moving to Alaska next month and the wedding will be in August or September of 2011. Fortunately, the wedding will be back here, but they are going to be across the continent for their entire engagement.

Apparently her mom already has everything figured out, down to Skypeing the bridal shower! (She says that we'll all ship the gifts to AK, where Jacquie can open them on camera while we all have a party back here in PA.) We're going dress shopping next weekend, though, before she flies out a couple of weeks later, and I'm really excited about that. :)

  • lol opening gifts on skype in front of everyone!? Awkward! I hate opening gifts in front of people. But hey, that's just me!

  • My MOH was always ready and willing to help with any wedding task. I think that's the biggest thing. And whatever you do, don't lose your shiit over a pair of shoes. haha. mine did at one point (I don't know if anyone remembers that post), and OMG was it ridiculous.

Hayley - me too. I feel like I have to put on a show!
