score! & a question about FitFlops (long)

We used part of our tax return to payoff one of my credit cards. I called them when I was ready to make the big payment, to make sure I had the right payoff amount since I had just made a regular payment. Well I guess their system wasn't completely up-to-date, so I ended up with a pretty big credit on my account.

Flash forward to a few weeks ago to when one of our dogs decided that chewing up my shoes was THE thing to do. I really, desperately needed a few new pairs of shoes. Like... bad. Unfortunately it's been all Birthdays & Bills and no extra $$.

So this morning I was looking through the mail (yes, on the weekends I don't check the mail) and I have my credit card statement saying I have this nice big credit. Soooo... new shoes for me! :D YAY!

In a very assbackwards-roundabout way they're free. I've convinced myself of that. I was able to get a new pair of sandals (FitFlops), casual sneakers (for work), and a new pair of black flats. OMG I almost killed that dog when I came home to find out he had chewed up my favorite & ONLY pair of black flats!

I am now happy to report that no shoes are left around anymore so he can't chew them up. Plus he's getting more exercise so he isn't chewing right now. Thank God.

On to my question - living in SoCal, and with it being Summer upon us, I wear flip flops every day, except when I'm at work. I live in them on the weekends. Unfortunately I'm getting old (??) and I am starting to get some pretty bad back pains from wearing them so much, because they have no support. I was reading about all the toning shoes & sandals, and the article was saying the FitFlops are actually really supportive & can help with back pain associated with too much sandal wearing.

Just wondering if anyone has them and what you think of them? I don't expect to have Gisele's @ss from wearing them, I just want my back to stop hurting.

I was going to break this up into 2 posts, but I didn't want to PW it up. Thanks for reading! Beer

  • Thanks! I'm looking forward to when they arrive, I'm hoping they're as good as I've heard.
