I just got my gown back from MIL and it is more wrinkled than I realized. We are going to do some "Trash the Dress" pics next week so I really don't want to spend the $ to have it professionally pressed before we do more outside pics. It is 100% polyester, could I iron it myself? There are no beads on the skirt which is what needs ironed. The seamstress who did my alterations had said at that time that I could iron it but I chose to have it professionally pressed before the wedding. Thanks! I appreciate any advice!
Re: Pressing gown
Why don't you try steaming it? You don't need a professional steamer or anything...my dress got a bit wrinkly because my mom embroided our initials on it for me, so she steamed it on our wedding day. She just used a regular iron on it's highest setting so it got all steamy, and then held it close to (but NOT touching) the dress. It worked perfectly, and really fast too! I wouldn't worry about getting it perfect if you're going to be "trashing" it anyway!
