I just re-read your post, I thought at first it said "fourth of July" not "MONTH of July"!
Is there a specific reason they are staying that long, or is it just a visit? My IL's stayed with us for 6 weeks last summer, and I seriously was ready to cut someone by the time they were gone (and they're genuinely good people!). Is there anyway you can influence this situation??
LOL I have been through this before with my ILs. They have stayed for a few weeks and 3 months after we got married my DH had surgery (double achilles surgery) so she stayed for 2 months. Plus my goddaughter and little cousin are staying with us this summer too. Its kind of a long story...
How did I get myself into this? Well, back in March DH's parents told us that his aunt and uncle may need to stay with us because his aunt needed a medical procedure done here in the states near us in Alabama. His aunt and uncle live in Trinidad. They never gave us any idea how long it would be. It was decided that FIL would come here so he could drive them around. The original dates discussed were the second week or two in June. Since nobody mentioned it, I forgot about it. Around that time I was also talking to my BMF (best male friend) about having my goddaughter stay with me for a few weeks in the summer because I wanted to spend some time with her. She lives in NY. When my cousin (also in NY) heard that my goddaughter was coming, she asked me if I could take her 11 year old son too. I thought it would be so much fun to have the kids here with us for a few weeks over the summer. I would put them in camp and take them fun places on the weekends. It was also important for me to expose them to some new things since they don't get out of NY often.
So that's how we got here.... We will have 4 adults and 2 kids in our house! The 4 in-laws arrive on July 2nd and the 2 kids arrive on July 10th. I call it - THE INVASION. Please pray that I survive this. I will keep y'all updated. This should be interesting...~~~MARRIED BIO~~~
WOW. I'm glad that you're taking all that in stride! You'll def. have to plan many "girls nights out" and lone weekend shopping trips! GL, and def. feel free to come here and vent. The board was great for me last year when my IL's were here.
I'll just go ahead and nominate you for Sanithood. Because wow. That is a lot of people!!
