DH's office is getting fumigated...
for freaking bedbugs! All I have to say is ew ew EW!
Re: DH's office is getting fumigated...
I work in rent to own and we see bed bugs EVERY DAY! It's super gross! Thankfully I work in the corporate office so I don't personally have to deal with them. I unfortunately know ALOT about them though because of this. I just want to warn you that fumigating the office will not kill bed bugs. It will kill the live bugs and any that it can get to, but all of the eggs etc that are in the woodwork and deep in to office furniture will live. The only way to properly kill them is heat. It has to reach 120 degrees I think is the number and sustain that temp for at least 30 minutes to kill those eggs. So if I were you I would make DH strip at the door for the next month or so until they are for sure gone. Chemicals will eventually kill everything but it takes multiple treatments to be able to kill all of the newly hatched critters. We have to do this with EVERY thing that comes back off of rent so that we don't pass them on to the next customer. Sorry to be a downer, I just would hate to see you get them in your house because they are such a nightmare to get rid of.
Daves may be able to give you more insight on them. I think her DH works for a pest control company.
my husband works for a fire suppression company and they go into buidings and turn off their sprinkler systems so that another company can come in and heat the rooms up to really high heat.
it's the only way to get rid of them for sure. i would be very very worried that your husband's company is just doing fumigation, and these things are really difficult to get rid of. There is a certain hotel in Blue Ash that I will always tell people who are staying in Blue Ash TO NOT STAY THERE because my husband's compnay has worked there for months on end helping them turn off the sprinklers so they can heat the rooms.
