Hey ladies - Texas girl traveling to Boston for the first time in November. Any opinion on any of these? Is there a specific location that I'd want to be for restaurants/sightseeing/walking around/bars? Close to Public Garden (Boston Park Plaza) or Boston Common (Hyatt Regency or Omni Parker House)? I'll be there for a convention.
Westin Waterfront Hotel (Convention Center - not my first choice)
Boston Park Plaza (50 Park Plaza @ Arlington St.)
Boston Marriott Copley (110 Huntington Ave.)
Fairmont Copley Plaza (138 St. James St.)
Hyatt Regency Boston (One Avenue de Lafayette)
Omni Parker House (60 School St.)
Renaissance Boston Waterfront (606 Congress St.)
Seaport Hotel (One Seaport Ln.) Ranked #11 on tripadvisor - so far my top choice, but it's far from the rest of the hotels offered, so I'm not sure if that also means far from the action!
Sheraton Boston (39 Dalton St.)
Westin Copley Plaza (10 Huntington Ave)
TIA!
Re: Hotel Help
If you want to be close to things, I would definitely rule out the Seaport. Of the rest of them on that list, I've stayed at both the Park Plaza and the Sheraton, and both were great. Nice hotels, and close to lots of stuff. It depends on what exactly you want to see, but basically each of those is close to half the 'must see' stuff in Boston. But either way, it's a small city and you could do lots of touristy stuff all over the city from either of those hotels.
ditto jCam - the Seaport isn't near much, so I'd rule that out (though it's a very nice hotel!)
Copley is a good bet - right near everything. The Marriott there is very nice.
Ditto PPs. Out of your list I'd pick one of the following:
Boston Park Plaza
Boston Marriott Copley
Fairmont Copley
Westin Copley Plaza
Omni Parker
The Public Gardens and the Commons are essentially one and the same, in that they are just across the street from each other. I like the Omni Parker House, but I think the others will put you more in the middle of the action.
I'm not much help for hotels other than I'd recommend staying in one around the Common/Gardens or Copley Square.
Keep in mind that by November it is getting pretty chilly here so definitely bring a jacket if you'll be walking outside for a while.
