Our beloved Vinnie passed away yesterday. I had gone outside a few times and noticed that he wasn't around like he normally is. So after the kids (my niece and nephew are here) were settled with a movie, I went looking for him. I found him at the edge of the property behind my old Tahoe and he had passed on. We can't see where he was attacked or hit by a car or anything, it looks like he just died of natural causes...
We buried him out by my garden where he liked to hang out while I tended to it. James is having a little stone made with his name on it that we'll place there and probably plant something there as well.
I've not been taking it well. He was getting up there in age and even though he died of natural causes, I can't help but feel terrible that I put him outside a couple of months before he died.
I'm trying not to be too upset in front of the kids though, so we'll have to do something "fun" today to keep my mind off of it.
Ya'll say a prayer for Vinnie, please.
This is a snapshot of him taken just a couple of days ago...

Christen, sorry to hear about Vinny. I know what an important "man" he was to you. Please don't think that it's because you put him outside, it's not like you abandoned him, you gave him the world as his home and still gave him food, comfort and shelter. We should all be so lucky in our lives.
