Ok, so technically, I've been back for about a week now, but this is the first opportunity I've had to get on here! I've been busy, busy, busy!!! Got back from Jamaica last Tuesday. Adam was sick the entire time we were on the HM with a sinus infection. When we got back Tuesday, he added some throwing up to the equation, so that was awesome... awesome as in NOT awesome. I've gotten my name changed on just about everything except for my work stuff... my badge expires in August and I really don't want to go get a new badge now, and then have to turn around and get a new one in August.
I'm a slacker and haven't even started my thank you notes... I suck. But I DID get a nice and shiny new car on Friday!! And by new, I mean new to me. I got an '05 Ford Escape which I absolutely love!!!
So how has everyone been??? I haven't even begun to look at posts yet because I've been SUPER busy at work. In the two weeks I've been gone, they decided to block facebook again, which I guess is good in a way so I can actually get stuff done at work!!
Re: I'm baaaaaaaack!!!
The Benhams: Married May 1st, 2010!
Welcome back stu! So glad you're here!!
Hope HH is feeling better now. I saw your pics on FB of the new Escape - pretty snazzy!!
I wish it were that easy for me!! Working for the govt is such a pain in the ass sometimes. Since I'm a govt contractor, I had to mail my marriage cert to my contracting company. They have to do up a new visit request to send to my govt office. The govt office has to start doing paperwork. I'll need to get a new badge, a new CAC (common access card which lets me log into the computer), I'll have to get new decals for my car to allow me onto Post, I'll have to get a whole new govt email address (which is NOT a fun process). I DID change my voicemail and my email signature, so people are already starting to call me Ms. NewLastName (with the government, they don't call married women Mrs.)
Thats odd, I've never heard of that before.
I don't know why that last post was blank, but here it goes again! I think with the government they believe that it's improper to assume that someone is married so they always call the women Ms. So and So, instead of Mrs. So and So. The people I work with that I actually have a closer relationship with have been calling me Mrs, so it's ok.
missed you too Hayley!!!
Hhmm didn't think of that! lol
I am impossible to please. I used to get annoyed (not mad, of course, but just internally annoyed) when I was unmarried and people would call me "Mrs. A." by mistake. That's my MOTHER! But so far everyone has called me "Ms. C." and I'm secretly annoyed that I'm not being called "Mrs." Haha.
Welcome back!!!! Missed you.
Well, speaking of name annoyances, this guy at work keeps calling me Sandra... when he's responding to my emails that have SARA on them in at least 2 places. My email address has my name in it, for eff's sake. I want to kick him.
Missed you too, Kelly!!!
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
I get called Kathy all the time, even though my email says Katy. It does get annoying after a while...
WAZZZUUUUPPP!! welcome back!!!
i had a pic to post for you but i still haven't figure out how to post pics in these posts!
no, it wants you to insert a link instead of pulling the picture like before
Then I have no idea. I tried to do the PIP thing forever ago before the knot made it easy and it never worked for me. Plus, I can't use that tinypic website or whatever it's called at work.
