small gift inspiration

My boss/neighbor came over with his son last night to help set up my basketball hoop.  A friend of a friend gave it to me, and just left it in my backyard.

Turns out the rim is bent, so my boss brought a stand/hoop over (he has 3 in various spots of his yard) for my son to use, and took the bent part off so he could fix it when he goes to his vacation house.  I guess the tool he needs is up there.

What kind of baked treat would you take over for that? Or would you take something else.  I feel like a small token is deserved, because it was above and beyond what an employer or neighbor is expected to do.

Re: small gift inspiration

  • That is very nice.  Do you know what kind of baked goods he likes?  If not, an assortment of homemade cookies (maybe some chocolate chip, some peanut butter, and some oatmeal raisin) would be great.  That would have something for every taste I would think.
  • I'd do an assortment - cookies, brownies, blondies (my personal fav), etc.  Or like Suze said, a variety of cookie types would be nice.

  • Any baked good would show your appreciation - maybe if you could find out what the boss likes I would go with that.
  • Good ideas.  My boss always seems to be dieting, but his son and son-in-law are there, and i think they're big eaters.

I think i'll do a small loaf of wheat bread, and a few cookie assortments.

    Bread is a great idea!
