I got the call today that the wedding picture proofs are in, YAY!!!! First order of busines is picking out the thank yous. We have two choices. The first is the traditional photo holder cards that you can write in, the second is the photo cards similair to the Christmas cards people send out now that already have a few words printed on them. If you go with the second option, do you still write personal notes with each one?
Re: Wedding Thank yous
I agree with PPs. If it's a Thank You for a gift, you need to make it personal. If it's just a general "Thank You for sharing in our special day" sort of thing, you can probably be more general and have them pre-printed.
But def take the time to personally thank those who gave you a gift/card/etc.
Agreed. All of actual "wedding" gifts were money so mine got pretty repetitive. I don't think anyone I sent a card to compared theirs with someone else's though so I think your ok.
im in the middle of doing mine as well. i got christmas card like ones and wrote on the back i made sure when i put them in the envelope i put the writing facing when they pull it out. Most people get money just write
"thank you for the generous/thoughtful gift and for sharing in our special day it meant so much to have you there sharing in our happiness with us and we hope you (or you both) enjoyed yourself(selves) as much as we did!"
simple sweet to the point and it feels personal!
I agree that you def. need to include a personalized message. If you got money from people write something like thank you for the generous gift... we are planning to use the money to buy a new set of pots and pans, or china, or furniture, or saving for a house etc.
I think letting people know that you're planning to use the money for something specific makes it feel like their money feel like it's being put to good use. Plus, it makes it feel more genuine if you mention something you've been saving for.
