recommendations for a visitor?
Hi,I'm going to be in Austin for a business trip for a few days, and I'll have 2 half-days (+ evenings) to do fun things. Any recs on what to do, eat, see? I'm staying at Hyatt in downtown and will not have a car. Thanks.(XP from travel)
Re: recommendations for a visitor?
There are a lot of things to do in Austin and you are staying in a great location.
If you are an outdoorsy person, head over to Ladybird Lake. You can walk the trails or check out a canoe or kayak.
Bats are a big deal around that area- you can get all the info on them from the hotel, and you will be able to see them at night. During the day, walk down South Congress (you will be staying a few blocks north on Congress). There are a lot of little shops and neat places to check out and lots of good food. At night you can walk over to 4th street. There are some neat little ally bars by Fado's Irish Pub, past Trulucks and there's a ton of live music. Avoid 6th street unless you're really into the party crowd.
