Restaurant ideas for anniversary dinner
DH and I are looking for a nice restaurant for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. We're in Dunwoody, but don't mind driving a bit for a good place. We're willing to spend up to around $150 on the dinner, but it definitely doesn't have to be that much. He had checked into Bones, but I guess it's too late now for reservations. We're pretty adventurous eaters and are open to pretty much anything.
Any suggestions?
Re: Restaurant ideas for anniversary dinner
A few...I'm a shameless foodie, but living on a teacher's salary. Whatever you choose, will you come back and post about what you ate??
- Woodfire Grill: Kevin Gillespie was on Top Chef last year and made it to the finals. He is all about local, seasonal, sustainable....and the service at Woodfire is aMAZing (so I'm told).
- Bacchanalia: again, local and seasonal fare; the chefs there live on a farm and use what they grow in their recipes.
- Veni Vidi Vici: part of the Buckhead Life Group of restaurants, it's always good and service is superb. My husband (FI at the time) went there the night we got engaged.
Hope that helps!
Thanks! I'll let you know what we choose and how it was.
I was just looking at the menu for Woodfire Grill and totally fell in love. Just called for reservations and nothing available until 10:30.
I can't make it that late anymore.
Ok, so the new requirement is that it can't be THAT popular that we won't be able to get reservations 2 days out. What can I say, DH and I are not known for our planning.

I actually checked out your restaurant reviews last night. It only made my decision tougher. lol And don't wory, my mom will be in town this weekend so it will be an adults only outing. (much overdue, I might add!)
Enjoy your dinner!
I'll add a second for Veni Vedi Vici. If you can't find reservations somewhere else, VVV is a great restaurant. DH and I were there a couple of months ago for the first time in about a year. We had a wonderful meal for about $125 including several glasses of wine. It's my favorite upscale Italian restaurant in the city.

I book all my dining reservations on this site. Very easy and they'll tell you what availability there is out there
Call me Kat =^..^=
I'm kind of surprised by all the raves for VVV- we've been there 2 times and weren't thrilled with either visit- it's actually our least favorite of the Buckhead Life Group. (Fave was Pricci, but might be Nava now) You can still sign up for their summer savings card, where they send you a $20 giftcard to different restaurants all summer too.
If you like seafood, what about Oceanaire? We've had fantastic special occasion meals there. Let them know the occasion when you make the reservation and they usually try to do something a little special.
