question for frequent flyers

My cousin just called to offer free use of her apartment in NYC anytime we would want in July, she'll be out of town.  So this is an awesome opportunity and we'd love to take advantage of it!

Any recommendations on the best place to find deals on airfare?  DH said if I could find reasonably priced tickets, we'll go!

Re: question for frequent flyers

  • JEALOUS!!! Try kayak.com to search.
  • I typically fly Continental and always seem to get pretty good deals with them.  You should be able to get something pretty reasonable from MSY.  NYC is awesome--you're gonna love it!
  • Where in the city does she live? I ask because getting to and from the airport can be costly and I would factor that into my ticket cost. (just PM or email me)

  • I'm not sure where she lives in the city, I'll have to find out!

    Thanks for the tips!

hey, she said that she lives 2 blocks north of Columbia.  She sent some info on getting to/from the airports (price-wise) and it looks like LGA would be the best place to fly into, if possible.

That's a great place to stay with kids, that's actually a family friendly part of the city with lots of parks.

I would think JFK would be cheaper. My aunt lives a little north of your cousin and to get to her house from Laguardia is about a $50 cab fare (each way). If you fly JFK you can take the train which is $2.00 per person and E is free. Of course you have to navigate the trains, but that really isn't too bad, and people are actually helpful.

that's good to know because the flight we were looking at actually flies in to JFK.
