This city went mad last night. I watched the Spain/Switzerland game in the same pub where I watched USA/England and the atmosphere was completely different.
You could tell that no one was expecting a victory. They cheered at getting a corner. After the goal it went nuts. I have never seen Swiss people that out of control. There was screaming, cars were honking all night, and people were hanging out of their car windows holding Swiss flags.
The Portuguese lady who owns the bar down the street was running dancing in the street draped in the Swiss flag and screaming that everyone is now Swiss. It was kind of a neat thing to experience.
