I need some travel adivce.

DH and I are going to Savannah next week. I made reservations for three nights downtown in the historic district. After those three days we don't know where we are going. J wanted to just fly by the seat of our pants and go where ever we felt like it. I, on the other hand, need at least somewhat of a plan. So, my question is where do you all suggest going? We will be driving, so anywhere within a couple hours would be okay. A couple people have suggested Hilton Head or Charleston, but I thought I would ask here and see if I got any other ideas. TIA!

I would definitely go to Charleston - you could go out to Isle of Palms and go to the beach and there is lots to do in the city. Its one of the places I've always wanted to go.

I have a feeling that is where we will go. I have been once a long time ago, and J has never been. Plus, it is in the direction of home. That way we won't have extra long to drive at the end of the week.

You could also go out to Tybee Island off the coast of Savannah for a day at the beach while your there if you wanted. We went to Fripp Island, South Carolina which is off of Beaufort, SC a couple of years ago - I dont know firsthand becuase I spent the whole week on the beach but there is supposed to be some cool stuff there too.

OOO, I'm so jealous--Savannah and Charleston are high on my travel list. Personally, I think you should go to the beach while you're there. Is Sanibel Island around there? You could hit any beach in NC or even Virginia Beach if they're on your way back home.

Tybee Island, I've had a few friends go and say it was an amazing trip, Ive been dying to go since i heard about it.
