Kind of frustrated right now....looking for an "as needed" nursing position and they're few and far between! I already submitted my resume to UNC, waiting to send it to another nearby hospital, and searching for jobs at Duke (where I currently work). The only problem with working at Duke for extra money is, the more money in my paycheck there, the more money they take out for taxes. Or at least that's what it seems.
I could just work an extra shift at work, but I'm so frustrated being up there right now, and I just want to do something sort of different. My last two shifts there I have left at least 30 min to an hour late each time.
I was looking into being a pharmacy tech or something at target, but nothing's open.
I want to do something DIFFERENT, but not many part time jobs pay as well as nursing. I feel stuck.
I am blessed to have a job right now as so many people do not, I know. I'm just venting. ![]()

Re: uggggh
There are some days when I absolutely hate my job, hate the people I work with, and just hate the ugly wallpaper border someone put up around my office before I took up residency here.... but then again, there are some days when I think to myself "you know, there aren't many jobs out there where I can bust my ass and get all of my work done first thing so I have the rest of the day to goof off on the internet, or there aren't many jobs that don't hassle you for coming in an hour late or taking off an hour early". In actuality, I love my job and it makes me all panicky to even think about job hunting again....
FYI: Just read an article on yahoo, so before anyone out there actually quits their jobs, read this first!!! http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Outofwork-job-applicants-told-cnnm-3498252371.html?x=0
I did get an email from the lady at UNC that said she would keep an eye out for my resume, and if it matches what they needed, she would call me! So that's good news.
There's a potential to put about $800 a month in savings. That would be awesome...here's to a long maternity leave!
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
OMG!!! That is ASININE! I cannot even believe that in a RECESSION, employers would think that laid off applicants are out of work because of PERFORMANCE!
