Re: NER: Halloween Poll
1. How do you celebrate Halloween? It's my favorite holiday. I have been going with my nephew and nieces trick-or-treating. I also go to costume parties. This year I might stay home and hand out candy since we have a house now although I've heard rumors that the rec center near us kind of ruined Halloween in our neighborhood.
2. Do you dress up for Halloween? Yes What was your favorite costume? The year I went to fantasy fest I was an angel with the gates of heaven painted on my chest. I think that was my favorite.
3. Are you dressing up this year? Yes What are you going to be? Pirate - I've always wanted to be a pirate and haven't done it so this is the year!

1. How do you celebrate Halloween? I don't, really. We even turn our lights out in case the 2 kids in my neighborhood are under the impression they're going to get candy from us. I might go out to a bar or a friend's house if they don't require dressing up.
2. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your favorite costume? No.
3. Are you dressing up this year? What are you going to be? No.
1. How do you celebrate Halloween? I'm a scrooge when it comes to Halloween and don't do anything. Would get into it if we had kids though.
2. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your favorite costume? I don't anymore, but I used to love Halloween when I was growing up. My mom always sewed our costumes and they were awesome.
3. Are you dressing up this year? What are you going to be? Nope, not unless I get roped into it last minute.
Now that's a Halloween costume I could go for!
1. I generally pass out candy to trick or treaters. Every few years I'll go out to the bars drinking, but this year probably won't be one of those. I may go to a Halloween party but it's an invite from a former co-worker who skipped my wedding on what I'm pretty sure was made up excuse, so I'm not sure.
2. I have dressed up in the past. My favorite was probably a Peter Pan costume (cheesy, I know), but that was back in my skinnier days when I'd wander round in just green tights and a tunic!
3. If we go to that party, I guess DH and I will dress up. I have no idea what I'll be. I will dress up my pets regardless -- my cat will be clown and I think I might do Elvis for my dog this year. They hate it but I figure it's only once per year, right?
1. Since I got "old" I don't really and it depresses me b/c I LOVE halloween. Love it. Now I just pass out candy.
2. I want to dress up but halloween has been on work nights lately and I don't have time to get home and changed before the kidlets start coming so I haven't been. My fav costume from the past was a Car Hop b/c I got to wear rollerskates.
3. Yup. I'm going to be Sarah Palin! (I'm not joking)
1. How do you celebrate Halloween? We love to go to haunted houses, etc. Last year and this year, we are heading to Busch Gardens to partake in their Halloween stuff.
2. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your favorite costume? I would love to, but DH put a stop to that idea a long time ago. lol.
3. Are you dressing up this year? What are you going to be? I wish! Perhaps I can get away with some accessories this year, but I have to look for it.
1. i love me some halloween. we nearly always throw a costume party or go to one.
2. several years ago, H and i went as the dudes from CHiPs. i was Erik Estrada, of course, and he was the white dude. lol. it was too awesome.
3. we're going to a costume party this year, but we haven't figured out our costumes yet and it's stressing us out! we are excited about having trick-o-treaters this year, now that we have a house in a kid-friendly neighborhood. i'm totally going to be that crazy lady who answers her door in a scary mask.
i remember my first year out of college, i lived in an apartment complex with not a child in sight. nevertheless i bought a crapload of candy, decorated my door with pumpkins, cobwebs and the whole bit. i was seriously bumed when didn't get a single trick-o-treater. duh.
1. Halloween is my favoritest holiday evah! I want to throw a party, but H isn't really that into the idea, so I decorate the house and pass out candy. Before I lived near kids, I went out to SF with my girlfriends every year for either the party at the Civic Center or walking down Castro checking out everyone's costumes. Ah, the good old days.
2. My favorite costume was my Wonder Woman costume my mom made me when I was like 5 or 6. It was awesome. I had the boots, a lasso, gauntlets, everything. It was awesome.
3. This year will be candy, kids and I'll dress the cats up. I think Darkness will be James Bond and Kali will be a ballerina, unless I can find a Wonder Woman costume for Kali, then they'll be the Justice League. The neighborhood kids like the cats on Halloween.
1. I have a love/hate relationship with Halloween. I really like seeing all the ToT'ers and handing out candy, and dressing up in outfits that I'd never wear, etc. I really hate haunted houses/mazes/scary stuff. I avoid those things like the plague.
2. My fave cosume of all time was probably when I was a bee. I just think I was so cute in it (that was in my college days )
3. I'll hand out candy this year. I will not likely dress up. Sophie is going to be a monkey.
1. How do you celebrate Halloween? Mostly at work, we have a big day of celebration here with costume contests, free lunch and cubical decorating contests. I woud love to hand out candy but no kids trick or treat in our neighborhood.
2. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your favorite costume? Depends. We usually do a "theme" at work, so my costume usually matches whatever our theme is. Last year we did Deal or No Deal and our dept. one for best group costume. WOO HOO!
I think my fav. costume was when I dressed up like a baby and had adult sized footed pajamas. Most comfy costume ever.
3. Are you dressing up this year? What are you going to be? I have NO idea. We havent even talked about it at work yet.
dude, i may steal your wonder woman costume idea for this year! and i'm lol-ing at darkness as james bond. my gypsy wouldn't stand for it, but this year i may have to give it a try. she'd make a cute french maid.
Terri, you best be posting pictures of Sophie as a monkey! Too cute.
We should have a PIP friday on halloween so you festive costume-wearers can show yourselves off.
1. How do you celebrate Halloween? We just moved into our first home, so we're looking forward to decorating the yard this weekend....tombstones, skeletons, halloween lights in the windows, etc.--bring on the cheesiness. We're pretty excited!
2. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your favorite costume? Not since I was in middle school, probably, but...
3. Are you dressing up this year? What are you going to be? DH thinks we should dress up this year--at home, not at work. Haven't figured out what we're going to do yet.
OMG, now I have to dress up my cats! The kittens may be too small, but maybe I can do it to Timmy?
1. I do enjoy Halloween, and might do something low key with friends this year.
2. My favorite costume was when I was a hippie when I was 15. I tye dyed a shirt, sewed Peace and Love patches on an old pair of jeans, tye dyed socks, and wore Birkenstocks. I also painted a peace sing on my face. I had really long hair, so I braided it and then let it out so it would be wavy. I totally looked like the Platonic Ideal of Flower Child. I also love the pictures of my first Halloween. I was Little Orphan Annie, which is doubly cute because my name is Annie and because I am a redhead. I did have a big curly Annie wig that I didn't pull off or anything. I also had the red dress and the little Mary Janes. It was too cute. Go Mom for being the best mom ever!
3. We're having a party at work this year, and I really want to dress up, but DH will think I'm majorly lame. Unless I can come up with something good and non-committal, I'll just be an office worker this year.
The James Bond is easy. He's got a velcro white shirt collar with a black boe tie. Put his dinner in a martini glass and, bam! James Bond.
loves it!
