I haven't been online all weekend, so I feel like I missed out a bit on the threads here
This was the LAST weekend that my HH had to drive four hours to come and visit me. It is such a great feeling knowing that the next time we see each other it will be ME making the drive to our home, and that I'll never ever have to pack the car on a Sunday night and say goodbye to him for a few weeks. It will be for keeps!!
We had a really great weekend, it was so gorgeous here! We went to a BBQ on Friday night, and were showered with delicious steak and lots of wine, and we met a few really awesome people. We spent almost the entire day yesterday at two different off-leash dog parks with our pup, and it was just the greatest, most relaxing day. And we had Thai food (my fave) while watching our full length wedding video for the first time!
Today we had a nice brunch and spent the afternoon shopping and browsing through our friendly neighborhood bookstore. Bliss! Of course, I still cried when he left, but it's only 9 more days and then we're together forever ![]()
How was your weekend?
Re: How was your weekend?
Our weekend was pretty good. Yesterday we had DH's parents over for a Father's Day BBQ. It was nice just to relax with them for the afternoon.
Today we went to Home Depot to get paint samples. Our entire house is white and I am getting tired of it, so we are going to start painting!!
Not a bad weekend for me either! Friday night we went out with our friends (my bf who had her baby right before the wedding and her husband) to dinner and a movie to celebrate HH's birthday.
Saturday we went to lunch with one of his friends and then to get a present for his dad for father's day. Then we ended up going back to our friend's house to cook out and the boys watched some UFC this. Exciting thing, I got to hold the baby and feed her! My friend's mom had kept the baby over night on friday so they could have a night off and they chose to go out with us!
Today we've just been hanging around until HH went to his grandparent's house about an hour away with his parents. I went grocery shopping and while there, forgot to use TWO $5 off coupons. Grr. But other than that, not bad....just have to go back to work tomorrow.

Glad to hear you will be permantly reuniting soon!
I had a fantastic weekend. I had Friday off, so I met a close friend for a lazy 3 hour lunch, then went shopping with my sister and DH that night. Saturday I did a little more shopping with my sister, then had a sushi and sopranos date with DH. Today I visited my 2 year old nephew, spent a few hours poolside, and then had a father's day bbq at my dads house. Now I am coloring my roots (lol), getting ready for an interview that I have on Tuesday, and waiting patiently for true blood to start.
DH LOVES true blood. He's been watching season two for the past week, just to rewatch it before season 3 starts.

I had a pretty relaxing weekend as well.
I have every friday off, so Friday HH and I went to SSA and got a new SS card. We hit a small snafu, but all is well in the end. Then I did some retail therapy at BB&B and Target. When I got home my thank you cards had arrived, so I spend most of Friday night writing thank yous.
Saturday my HH went airsofting all day, & I had a girls night out at a local bar/restaurant. We ended up meeting up with some of our husbands later in the night.
Today we slept in, and went to a bbq at my dad's house, finished laundry, and went grocery shopping. We are ready for another week! Oh, and HH is doing his part of the thank yous by licking them all closed--my least favorite part!
So happy to hear that the countdown is to single digits for you and HH to be together at last!!
We had a great weekend. Friday night, DH brought his son home for our weekend which is actually two whole weeks!! We grilled out for dinner and then watched a movie. Saturday was my birthday and to celebrate, we spent the day on the river boating with my cousin and her husband. Then we went to their house for dinner and a few games of bag-o/corn hole/bean bags/whatever you call it where you live. It was a wonderful way to spend a beautiful summer day. But I was pooped after all that beer and time in the sun, so I was in bed, asleep!, by 9:30...I am such an old fart!
My dad left Friday for a fishing trip in Canada, so today we invited my mom up to celebrate "our" birthday yesterday, as well as Father's Day with DH. She stayed all afternoon and it was so nice to visit. This evening was a quick dinner of PB&J's followed by ice cream with chocolate syrup and strawberries while we watched Labyrinth. I think only about half of us were even alive when that movie was released in 1986! It was a good one to watch with the family. Gotta love the 80's music soundtrack!
We got a lot accomplished. Not super relaxing, but a relief to get some much needed tasks out of the way.
Friday we did yardwork. H mowed the lawn while I weeded all the flower beds. Saturday, we both worked, and rented "Brothers" - which has to be one of the most depressing films I've seen recently. Today H worked most of the day, but we managed to get some duplicate gifts returned to Target, and got a $150 gift card in return. We BBQ'd for my dad at his house, and hung out there for a while.
OOOH, and I got to play with my new Canon G11, finally! It is the best camera I've ever had. I've got my dad to thank for that - he gave it to us as a wedding gift.
We had a really great weekend, too!
DH has summer hours on Fridays (which just means he gets out before 5:00... I really hate his job!) so I met him in center city and we did some window shopping.
Then Saturday we went out for my MOH's birthday and my girlfriend from L.A. flew in just for the night! It was so great to see her that we had a little too much fun! We had dinner and went out dancing (at which point all the guys seemed to get instantly tired at the same time and left! haha) and we rolled in at about 4am! Felt just like college!
Which is why this morning I had my special hangover-cure breakfast and DH and I spent the day relaxing, watching movies, and grilling.
A relaxing weekend... but since I'm a teacher it's going to be the weekend for the next ten weeks
Meganjane, I think I need to know what this special hangover-cure breakfast is!!!
We did absolutely NOTHING all weekend and it was AMAZING!!!! No wedding crap to deal with, no family bickering about stupid dresses. We got to sit around the house and be lazy for once!!! We went and rented a bunch of movies and chilled on the couch all weekend! We DID get to use our waffle maker for the first time (I'll have to post pictures at some point because our first attempt was NOT pretty!!!)
Yesterday, we took my dad out to lunch for Father's Day and then Adam cut grass while I sat in a kiddie pool and read the third book in the Sookie Stackhouse series (the series True Blood is based on) and drank strawberry/mango daiquiris!!
Ours was pretty good too.
Saturday we were up early and outside at 8am for yardwork. Got alot done, now we have to wait for the weedkiller to settle before we can plant anything new. I'm still tired and my legs and hands are killing me, it was quite the work-out. Saturday night, my MIL and BIL's came over for an impromtu BBQ.
Sunday, I got up early to do laundry and a quick vacumn of the house. We swung by my dad's house to see him for Father's Day and then we went down to hubby's uncles for a BBQ and his dad was here. It was a nice, day full of eating! LOL.
Sara, I love the Sookie Stackhouse books, too! I watched the first few episodes of True Blood, but it was a bit much for me. I prefer the sex and gore to be on the printed page, where my brain can edit it down to a tamer level. Haha.
We spent the weekend dropping over $800 in car repairs.
My car needed an alignment, and Matt's needed... well, apparently a lot of things. An oil change and brakes and calipers and... Sigh. The Pep Boys we use is right next door to the Barnes & Noble where we met, so we walked to Subway for lunch and then hung out in the Starbucks section of B&N. He read about football and I knitted like mad on the baby blanket that I need to have finished by Sunday! I also bought a knitting book. This was when I still thought the repairs were going to total about $300, LOL.
After that, we hit the pool for a little while and rented Couples Retreat. Yesterday was church and the pool again. Then baseball on TV for him and more knitting for me. I love quiet weekends!
I've become obsessed with them!!! I read the first two on the beach on our HM and now I'm almost done with the third. I started off watching the first season of True Blood and then I decided to start on the books. I bought the first three forever ago, but never had time to actually read them. Now I'm going to have to go out and get the rest of the series!!
We played some softball, had a bbq with the family, went to the ER...pretty typical weekend for us. LOL
My 6 y.o. son has been complaining that his cheek hurt for about a week & a half. We looked allll through his mouth & saw nothing, so I figured he was getting a molar or something?! Suddenly Saturday night, he put his finger in his mouth & asked me, "Why are my gums so far down on this side, Mom?" Turns out, the poor kid had an ABSCESS! OMG my poor baby!!! So we went to the ER, had it drained, got some antibiotics, and have a dentist appt follow up today. I'm pretty sure his tooth will have to be pulled. This is not going to be a beautiful day.

Oh my gosh, tito! I'm so sorry! Poor little guy... hopefully he's feeling better now!
And my hangover cure breakfast is fried eggs (as greasy as possible), a huge glass of coke, two advil, and some buttered toast. Really... anything as long as it's covered in grease and butter, plus coke! haha
LOL! MINE TOO!
Little man did ok at the dentist today. The actual procedure is scheduled for next Monday. That'll be the doozy!
