Good Morning!

Hope you gals had a great weekend! (and to the new daddies, too!)

Ours was nice, relaxing... DH and I even got out (vs. hanging in front of the tv).  I toted around in the garden and it's looking good-IMHO, of course!  We also prep'd for our yard sale for next wkend (finally getting rid of the ole brown table runners from the wedding-sell or they will be tossed!)

On some T&P news...    MIL has to go back in for more chemo-seems her lung cancer is 'active' in her liver. Stupid Cancer!

Re: Good Morning!

  • Good morning!

We had an alright weekend.  We went to the Va Beach Boardwalk Art Show on Saturday and it was sooooo hot.  I was pretty miserable walking around in the 90 degree weather, so we didn't stay very long.  We spent Sunday running errands and attempting to get the baby's room in order.  I think we're going to have to rent a small storage unit for the next year because we just have too much stuff in too small a house.  We'd be ok if we had 1 more room.

T&P to your MIL.  Cancer in the liver sounds scary!

  • we vegged out all day yesterday!  It was nice to not be sitting on a plane or in an airport!

I am sorry to hear that about your MIL.  Your whole family has my T&P's

  • Lorelai-  Glad you had a good weekend.  So sorry to hear about MIL's cancer!  I'm hoping this round of chemo does the trick for her.

Our weekend was busy but fun.  We had dinner at my mom's on saturday and my dad's on sunday and watched a whole lot of soccer in between.  I cleaned the house some and did grocery shopping  too.  Hubby and I took a nice long walk yesterday because the weather was just beautiful.  All in all a great weekend.

  • Hi! Lorelai - I'm sorry to hear about your MIL - I hope chemo takes care of the cancer.

Our weekend was not too bad, despite the weather and my cold... We had my niece and nephew Friday-Saturday night, so we took them to a street fair on Saturday (in the rain), and then my nephew took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon. Thank goodness.

Sunday morning we slept in, ran errands, then went to a great used book store, and spent a cozy afternoon at home with our new books. It was in the 50s and raining all weekend. Yuck. But I've been getting over a cold, so it was nice to have an excuse to sit around and relax, instead of doing yard work!

Sunday night I made a mushroom and parmesan risotto, and it was the best risotto I've ever made. It was such good comfort food for the cold, rainy evening. I was very impressed with myself :P.

In other news, AF is trying to rear her ugly head. Boo. Hiss. Get it over with already, will ya?

  • Wow, I'll keep my fingers crossed for your MIL.

Sat we had a great day visiting with family at a birthday party.  R stayed home and got 8 hours of alone time to do whatever he wanted--he got to work on his motorcycle and detailed his truck.  Made him a happy man.

Sun we vegged out at home just the two of us for most of the day.  My parents kept Bebe overnight Sat, so we had some alone time.  :)  We went to Farrel's for dinner with my family to celebrate Father's Day.  Overall not a bad weekend!

  • Good morning everyone!

     My weekend was fun.

Saturday we went to the mall, M bought me more makeup, then we went to dinner then home.

Yesterday he felt like being Mr. Grumpy Pants all day so I sat out back in the sun all day while he sat inside playing his video games and watch my niece play in her pool.

  • Hope the daddys (and soon-to-be daddys) had a good weekend!

I went to a concert on Friday (MGMT) after hellacious storm here that tore apart the city.I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to go b/c it was so bad! Our power was out, trees were down all over the place, etc. But I went and we rolled in right as the main act was starting and STILL managed to get good seats so that was pretty cool!

Saturday I took Taylor to the doggy park, which wears me out as much as it does her since it's a 40 minute walk to the one I like to take her too. Then for the rest of the day I just vegged out and watched a really depressing documentary on Saturday night on HBO about outsourcing the birth process to India (called Google Baby). And drank too much wine.

Yesterday M made us breakfast (which he NEVER feels like doing, so I was happy!) then we went to spend time with both the papas. It was a fun day!

  • T&P to lorelai's MIL. My aunt had a breast lumpectomy and is getting radiation this week. She will most likely not need chemo because it hasn't spread, but please send her T&Ps as well for a permanent cancer-free body!

Saturday, we went to my mom's family reunion. It was HOT, but not as bad as I thought it would be, there was a breeze. We had a good time. DH & I saw a random yard sale (ok, barn sale) on the way and I got an awesome book of etiquette from 1921 for 50 cents! It's pretty, very art deco. On the way home, we stopped at a local winery and found our new favorite wine (a sweet red)! Have to order a case sometime :D Oh, and we tried to catch some wild kittens on my parents' farm and both got bit lol! Little jerks. They were cute though.

Sunday, I cleaned, did laundry, and worked on an etsy order. DH sliced his palm open at work and came home all bloody...he called me earlier and told me about his bad day, so I got him a present while I was out (a new fedora), that cheered him up!

  • Our weekend was profitable!  Saturday we had a yard sale and made enough to cover the hotel room for our vacation. I'm not a yard sale shopper but I love having yard sales. I find it so amazing what people will buy and what they won't buy. I'm a believer that if you price something at 10 cents not matter what it is people will buy it. I'm just glad to have junk out of the house and a little cash in my hand.

Sunday we took MIL out for lunch, took her home and did a few things around her house for her and then came home and did yard work...in 90 degree heat. It was 8pm by the time we came in so we ordered pizza and watched tv the rest of the night.

T&Ps to lorelai and kristy's loved ones that stupid cancer and can get on with their lives.

  • Lori and Kristy - T&P your way!

Friday we got together with some friends and just hung out.

Saturday we were all over the place - we went to 2 baby stores and picked out our furniture (just about positive it's for us) and DH bought an adorable baby blanket.  We also went to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants for lunch and boy was it delicious!

Sunday we just hung out with my parents to celebrate Father's Day.

  • Lots of thoughts to Lori and Kristy!

We had a great weekend. We drove up to VA this weekend to hangout with some friends.

Friday: We were on the road for 3 hours and grabbed some Wendy's once we got to town...it's been forever since I've had Wendy's - YUM! Then we went to our friends house and we all went to the bar to play darts.

Saturday: We all went out to breakfast and then to a local cafe. Afterward we went to some game/comic shops and there was a Summer Solstice festvial we stopped by. We went and played some pool afterward. Then we all went to dinner and met up with another friend. We ended the evening with Monopoly and darts.

Sunday: We got up early and went to breakfast then headed home. We got home early enough that DH and I had time to clean, veg out, and watch tv/play games. It was a great night together.

  • Friday- just veged at home.
Saturday- hung pictures, started getting house in order/ready for baby shower this coming Saturday (poss. vent about this later).  Took our hospital tour.  Washed all the baby stuff in the house so I could start putting it away.
Sunday- more picture hanging/decorating and wrote TY notes from 1st shower.

    Quietly busy weekend.

  • I can not remember what we did Friday night....oh man that is bad.

Saturday we cleaned the house, went to 2 graduation parties then cleaned some more.

Sunday was Myka's baptism and afterwards we had everyone over our house for a party.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Lori and Kristy's families. Cancer sucks.
