Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

NER: C&P

This is the first time I have seen this issue on the Nest and it made me giggle.  If you can bare to make it to the second page, Ashleym909's post is priceless given the topic.

  • Her reply made my head hurt.
"HOW many US citizens and ranchers have been decapitated in Arizona by roving bands of paperless aliens, and how will a requirement that I have papers on me make that not happen?"courtesy of SueSue
  • omg, ridiculousness.
  • Wow, that poster is an idiot.

    Speaking of gay:

Go Hilary Duff! I think she'd have appreciated our LilyNY thread.

  • I just can't believe an adult doesn't understand that kids repeat everything.  It is not cute when your child starts telling people to shut-up or calls others retarded.  It is also not cute when your child starts screaming "I hate you".  So while they are not curse words it is not phrases you would want your child to pick up.

The fact that the only person who agreed with the OP was barely coherent had me dying laughing.

  • I never thought to remove the word "hate" but it makes a lot of sense. It would be nice to get my kid to learn other words to express themselves other than "i hate ___".

I still think its funny when non-christian people say "Jesus Christ". They need a lesson in what "christ" means!!

  • I'm really sad that a grown adult didn't know that was obvious.

    This is my favorite response:

Unless you are REALLY, REALLY dumb, you can train yourself to use more appropriate words.  Go get a thesauraus (in case you don't know, it's a big book that gives similar meanings for different words), and find a substitute.
