Sourdough Bread

We got an incredible loaf of Sourdough Bread in our last Produce Box.  I am looking for ideas of what to eat with it since I don't want it to go to waste.  Tonight we are making steak sandwiches (london broil and grilled onions).  Anything other ideas??

Re: Sourdough Bread

  • I like to use sourdough to make French Toast.  You could also just slice it and freeze it to have in the future.

  • While in VA last weekend we went to Cracker Barrel and I got 'Roast Beef on Sourdough'. They had just put a hunk of beef on a couple slices of slightly toasted sourdough bread and drizzled gravy over it. Ate it with a fork, it wasn't like a sandwich. . but OMG that thing was sooooo friggin delicious!!

and thanks. . now I want some. :o)

I'm still trying to talk DH into doing the produce box :o/

  • Fresh Tomato and Mozzarella Panini... yummy
  • We actually only buy Sourdough bread.  It's probably the one thing from DH's doing the South Beach Diet years ago that we've stuck with - according to that, it's a "better" carb than regular bread.  So, we use it for everything that you would use bread for - sandwiches, toast, with butter as a side dish for meals.
