Happy Monday!!!

Re: Happy Monday!!!

  • Morning! My weekend was busy but productive. Sat morn-I hit the famer's market, did returns at target & old navy. Went home did some cleaning, Dh left for OT, kids & I waited for the landscaper to get a quote. Than hit the mall and did returns at macy's, BBW, & Gap. A quick stop at Henrys and back home for more laundry and cleaning. Sun-started clearing out office, took some stuff to storage, DH attacked our jungle of a backyard, Than I made DH his father's day dinner Rick Bayless tacos w/ mexican garlicky greens, plus I made the tomatillo salsa and guacamole. And it all came out good! Isabel didn't eat the tacos but she did asked me to pack some guacamole and chips in her lunch. Dessert was PeanutButter Choc Chip Oatmeal Cookies. Another hit! Than baths and bed. Oh and I started #11 on my list-going shampoo free. Instead I used baking soda and apple cider vinegar, so far I'm digging it. And bonus I only work 3 days this week!!
  • Kat - Yay for a 3 day work week!!

Friday I went to my stepsons 8th grade promotion.  We all went out to lunch after and since lunch took a little longer than expected, DH stayed home from work too.  We hung out and went to dinner.  Saturday we got up and drove down to Dana Point and visited the Ocean Institute.  Then headed home and watched golf and a movie.  Yesterday the kids came over for Father's Day and we spent the afternoon re-setting up the pool.  We had originally set it up under the patio but then the water would stay cold so we moved it onto the grass.  Then we cooked carne asada tacos.  I made beans and rice and had root beer floats for dessert.  Then we went and saw Toy Story 3.  It was so cute and a little sad....Crying

Tonight I have laundry to do....

  • We had a pretty busy weekend. On Saturday, we drove down to South Coast Plaza to buy Ivy's bedding from PBK but they ended up being out of stock in the store. They ordered it online for us and we got free shipping! They were really nice and super helpful. Then we drove to south Corona and went to BRU. We picked up a bunch a stuff that was not purchased off our registery. Yesterday for fathers day, FIL wanted to go to Johnny Rebs in Victorville so we drove up there after church.

Any special amount or combo for the non shampoo? It is probably obvious but I am not sure.

  • Well I had a 3-day weekend, which is technically continuing due to not having work anymore. On Friday I applied for unemployment, so hopefully I did it right! Saturday my Dad came up to stay with us and worked around the house. I made my first recipe in quite awhile and it came out pretty good. Sunday I worked on re-taping our living room and dining room, painting the lines, and then trying to get paint off the baseboards. Note to self, no one is taping in my house unless it is me or a professional painter. I am not the best, but way better then what I am trying to salvage. I plan on working on working all week to get our house ready for the housewarming party.

It's basically one tbl of each per cup of water. Here's some links that I used for my research. http://simplemom.net/how-to-clean-your-hair-without-shampoo/ http://crabappleherbs.com/blog/2008/02/01/simple-herbal-hair-care/ http://babyslime.livejournal.com/174054.html

Thank you! One less chemical and cost sounds good to me. Big Smile

  • Morning everyone! Weekend was super busy!

Friday did some last minute fathers day shopping at the mall and hit up CPK for dinner afterwards. It was a nice low key date night with H and we've been missing that lately.

Saturday got up early to start prepping for fathers day celebration #1. Made my dad's favorite carrot cake & cream cheese frosting from scratch, homemade parm & pepper cracks, and a feta salsa for an app. My parents came over with my younger sister in the afternoon and after dinner my folks left to catch their flight to Jamaica. My younger sister is staying with us for the week while they're gone so I'm excited!

Sunday another early morning since someone came to look at my car that we listed for sale and we agreed on an offer! They put a deposit down and are going to come sometime this week to pay the rest and pick up the car. After all that, I started working on prepping for fathers day celebration #2 with the ILs. I made roasted red pepper hummus and an orzo salad with roasted veggies for the picnic and both were big hits. After we got home everyone was beat so we all took a nap then watched Pirate Radio.

  • Not a productive weekend for me.  I went to the gym on Friday, Saturday had family stuff, then made a BBQ-shaped Cake, Sunday had family stuff, then did lots of napping. For some reason it feels like I can't get enough sleep lately... I need to really focus on hitting the gym, rehabing my knee, and losing some weight... I'm trying to make sure to cook every night, and I've been taking lunch every day- and have protein shakes to supplement throughout the day- baby steps- Rome wasn't built in a day!

One great find I made- I went to Juice it Up- they have AMAZING protein shakes... I think it might be a weekly tradition on Saturday mornings after Yoga and Zumba! :)

Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
  • Kat: What made you want to stop using shampoo? Or, switch to a different type of "shampoo"?

This weekend I was just in a funk. Idk, what was wrong w/me. We celebrated father's day early since P had to work Sunday. I cooked breakfast (french toast w/raspberry & cream cheese) then we headed to the pool. My gym has a beach entry that C just LOVED. He loved being able to walk around. looks like we'll be going there often this summer. Then home for nap. After nap/lunch we attempled to see TS3. Ok first off, it's been forever since I've been to the movies. Secondly I've never had to worry about going w/a toddler. The 3 pm showing was PACKED & people lined up a hr and a half before the showing. So we went to see the 4:30. P waited while I went to the play area w/C. It was going really well, but I didn't anticipate all 6 previews & cartoon short. So close to an hour later C was ready to leave. Eh, we'll try again when the crowds not so crazy. Then I had C finish his homemade gift for P. The rest of the weekend was nice & quiet. Went to the pool again on Sunday & grocery shopping.

    Happy monday. :p

I came across the idea on one of my blogs and it just sounded so logical and easy. I figured it couldn't hurt to try. Less money, better for the earth and easier to clean the shower. Sorry TS3 was a bust. We are planning on taking the kids later on. But we already know J won't last the whole movie but at least isabel will get to see it.
