I think every marriage is different, and the idea of a 'normal' marriage only leads to comparing your relationship to everyone elses. Even though DH and I barely see each other some weeks (between my school schedule and his crappy work schedule) I still consider us to have a very stable marriage. It makes me value the times we spend together more since us having an entire day with each other is few and far between. Growing up, my dad worked out of town 4 days a week and was home 3; I don't think spending time apart makes your marriage "weird", you just do what you have to do.
