We live in Brighton and have for some time, but since I have family in Newport it always seems easier to head there when we want to get out of town. But we'd like to try something new on our next day off.
Anyone got any recommendations? Seafood and beaches are good, a few sites to see even better

Salem is good. We've done the trolley tour and they take you around to all the sites/ give you tons of background history.
Rockport is a fun artsy town that is good to walk through. You can also rent kayaks there and paddle around.
Newburyport and Portsmouth are nice towns to wander through and window shop. Great food too.
