an old friend that I haven't seen in a while has cystic fibrosis pretty badly. She's been on the transplant list for years. She got the call tonight! Someone who's private plane was at the nola airport donated the plane to fly her to texas right now for a double lung transplant. So exciting, but SO scary!!!
T&Ps please.

Our Blog!
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain."
sad news.
The transplant didn't end up happening.
Her FB says "Ok guys I have some really bad news I not getting my new lungs tonight they couldn't get the lungs to me I am upset but I will make it through this thank you everyone for all the support and prayers I love you all" and then in a comment she says : "The person who was supposed to get the lungs and bring them here couldn't in the time that is needed."
how frustrating. She is next on the list, so now she has to wait. I'm sad for her.
As a respiratory therapist, I have worked with many patients with CF. It is an awful, awful disease. At the last hospital I worked, we had a young girl who was frequently a patient at our hospital, so we all got to know her quite well. She wound up getting pregnant, which is very dangerous for women with CF,and wound up dying shortly after she gave birth because the pregnancy was too hard on her body. She was only 19 : (
Anyway, sorry to go on a tangent, but from my experiences, I empathize with what your friend is going through. Praying that she gets some new lungs!
