horrible but interesting (oil spill related)

Have you all seen this? It shows how much area the oil spill would cover if it was where you live. Horrible but a really good visualization tool!

  • that is crazy to see.  I was curious how much this was on an indivdual's (outside of the gulf coast) radar...obviously that is all we hear about on the local news & it is definitely talked about in national news.  I was just more curious if individuals knew much about it.

  • yikes!  i put in honolulu and it covered all of oahu, maui, lanai, molokai...if the tool had the oil spill in the other direction, it would cover all the islands...holy mole guacamole!

    I would say that most Aussies probably know it happened, but not much in the way of details or the extent of the problem. The information is there, but it's just so remote to their everyday lives, KWIM?
