Renewing @ the DMV...

It's that time of year - I have to renew my license.  Anyone done this recently?  What do I need to do - eye test & sign test?  (Note to self - review signs!).  And anything I need besides my current license?

I think that's it, however it used to be if you've had a speeding ticket you'd have to take the written test.
  • Yeah just the eye exam - signs were the most difficult for me - even though I only got one wrong.....

  • BTW - our DMV doesnt take debit/credit cards so be sure to take a check or cash just to be on the safe side

Good call - I totally would have forgotten about this!!

  • I can barely remember taking the sign test before - does anyone recall if they have any symbols/words on them?  I almost feel like they were blank shapes...
  • They are just shapes NO WORDS!!!

  • Aren't there really only a few shapes?  Stop sign / yield sign / railroad crossing / and then square ones w/ a zillion different things on them?...
  • Also remember that you can make an appt for renewing.  It makes it a lot nicer.  Makes people mad who've been waiting.   It's just an eye test and sign test.  You can also review signs on the DMV website.  It's pretty easy.  They also do the school zone signs and speed limit signs, no passing zones etc.

I made an appointment last time, got there a few minutes early and was still in and out within 20 minutes.  There were some people still sitting there waiting that looked irritated.  I just had to do the sign and eye test.
