Feel free to laugh at me

I am deathly afraid of any big bug. Spiders, roaches, waterbugs, you name it. If it's big I'm running in the other direction...literally!

So this morning, I'm driving to work and go past a construction site. Out of nowhere, a big roach lands on my driver side door and window. I was so terrified I wouldn't even look to the left. So, I was hoping it would blow off but I was behind this super slow truck and was so close to my job that I couldn't pass by it without missing my the turn. So I'm stuck driving with this huge roach on my window.

I get to work and park and the roach crawls up to the top of my car and all I can think is "When I open this door, it's going to fall on my head and I'm going to cry." So, I unlocked my door and climbed out the passenger side door to safety. When I looked, the roach was gone which made me feel stupid for climbing out of the passenger side (and I know a few people saw me) but I don't care. My sanity and my hair are safe :)

Hope this gave you guys a good laugh if you needed it. Hopefully there is no bug waiting for me when I get to the parking lot.

  • Thanks for the giggle!  ...but sorry it happened!  I'm not really one with an affection for creepy crawly things either.

  • LOL, I hate bugs too.  At least your window was up.  One time I was driving and on the dash was a huge spider.  I had to pull over and get out.  Thankfully, my son was with me and killed it.  I felt like such a wuss.
  • I would have done the same thing!!

In fact, last night, in the shower a roach was ON MY FOOT. I lost it. Almost fell. What was worse was I was having a minor panic attack because I didn't have my glasses on so I couldn't see if there were more.

Needless to say, my husband is spraying the house today.

AAAAAAAHHH!!!! I cringed thinking about that!

I remember when I first moved into my apartment in Louisiana in 2006, my parents had told me about waterbugs (my parents are from Virginia so I guess waterbugs are a southern thing because I never saw them in Michigan growing up lol) but I had no clue what they were talking about...until one crawled up my leg when I walked into my room with the lights off. I almost slept in the car that night. When it finally left my room, I barricaded the door so it wouldn't come back in and called someone from work to come and kill it. I think I'm still traumatized from that!
