Soooo Speaking of Baby Fever... (KINDA LONG)

I know that this has been a big topic of conversation on the board as of late but boone's post really made me want to share the extent of my baby fever with you gals!

I'm kinda in the same boat as Pamila!  My Fever has gone into a full blown DISEASE!!! I'm absolutely obsessed with ALL things baby!  I found myself spending somewhere around 8ish hours this weekend looking at stuff online.  I have a lot of friends who have had babies in the last 2 years and have spent a lot of time in baby stores shopping for them.  So you tend to kinda look.  Well I've gotten into research mode!  I'm like comparison shopping strollers and oozing over nursery bedding!

DH has handled all of it really well.  He laughs at me a little bit because it's silly but he knows that I really am ready. Even though a very small part of me wants to wait a year (DH does) a MUCH bigger part of me has been ready for a long time.   He is probably the most tolerant and loving man I could have found to match me!  We came out of Bed, Bath & Beyond on Sunday afternoon and I turned to throw something away. DH thought I was turning towards BuyBuyBaby (the store I've REALLY been looking at!) and goes "You want to go in don't you?" My response was "Kinda, but I'm not going to make you do that."  DH turned, grabbed my hand and walked me towards the store!!!  I was SO excited!

And he even gave opinions!  So I'm thinking he may begin to change his mind about the year, but I'm def not going to push it! We both need to be ready. And I think he's almost there (EEEEKS!) Yes

Just wanted to share my "basketcase moment" with you girls because I knew you would understand!

PS... to further explain my obsession... I already own a diaper bag! Embarrassed It's a Petunia Pickle Bottom and I FELL IN LOVE with it!  So when it went on sale and moved over to the Petunia Outlet, DH let me buy it!  (and this was about 3 or 4 months before the wedding!) Such Love!

  • Awwwwwwwwwww, I love you, and your obsession, AND your HH!!  I got all butterfly-ish just reading this...you are so adorable!  (And you sound just like me...although I've been strictly forbidden from buying baby items just yet, he does let me spend on our friend's babies - AND helps pick out the cutest things)

PS I have totally scouted diaper bags.

  • First of all, I think it's so cute that you already have your diaper bag, I love it!!  I also love that your HH walked you to BBBaby, it was very sweet of him and it had to have felt great to have his support and input.  It shows even more of why you fell in love with him, right?  Wink

HH and I are both hit with the baby bug and we hope it happens soon.  Until I started reading up on it (if you haven't already, get "What to expect before you're expecting", it's a good book w/great info), I never realized how perfect timing has to be!  Now I'm all about putting in fake conception dates to see possible due dates, looking at gender predictors and all that stuff.  I can't wait to make a ticker for pregnancy.  You're not alone in the baby geek'ness!  haha.

  • Yay Jenny!!  I'd be soooo excited too! I have a few things picked out too. :)

Ooooh I want that book!  I might have to get it.  My bf just had a baby and everytime we go to their house I read her What to expect when you're expecting and other various baby books.  HH is so cute around their baby...i think he's excited too, but wants to wait.  I'm also wondering if stopping BC in october will lead to a november conception...I'm afraid that would be too early for HH though...I think he's hoping for a January conception.  We'll see.  I wouldn't mind earlier though.

You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step." <3<3

  • That was very sweet of your HH to take you in that store =] I haven't caught the baby fever yet and I'm sure that my HH is thankful! lol We're planning on waiting 4-5 years (we're still young 20 and 22). If we have an oops before then we won't be upset, but we'd rather wait. My Mom always tells me though that we'll have a baby in God's time, not ours, and she's right. If it's His will we have a baby before the 4-5 years, then so be it.
Two souls but a single thought; Two hearts that beat as one image
  • I literally giggled out loud at your P.S.-- but in a good way. :) Sounds like your HH is coming around!

I can't throw stones. I had my dress before the ring. :)

  • Your Adorable! I am glad I am not alone! I haven't bought anything for the baby yet but we have been throwing around names. We have got them picked. Not telling yet! We did haha decide on a crib if we do get pregnant which we failed this month. It is so funny I never tried before. It was always a um well I think we might need to be taking a test. Now its a holding hands dreaming of a baby. So crazy different! Reading all the fertility stuff it is amazing from what it says that anyone ever has babies.

My worries are wow what if I have twins agian??? The older you get the more likely you are to have twins, Once you have twins you have a great chance of twinning. I have twins and triplets in my family which also makes it a great chance. So this is crazy to think it could happen agian...

Am I to old to keep up? I was in my 20's when I had my children and I am way out of those now!

Will we find a house we love when we start looking that will be ready by the time the baby or babies are born.

I am planning on starting to buy fabric and make my own baby bedding I think we will see when it gets closer I did it for the other girlies so I can't let this hope to be baby not have mommy made stuff!

  • I totally made a "wishlist" at babiesrus.com................. And we're talking kids in 2-4 years...
