6. what would your name have been if you were a boy? William Tale(froma a Louis 'Lamor book) Sooo glad I wasn't a boy!!
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand? Silvia (DH likes this name but I knew a Silvia that my mom worked with that was a dope head)
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? DH and I have agreed on names we both like. But the reason I like Velvet is because my favorite movie is "National Velvet" about a girl and her horse. And in that movie her name is Velvet B(our last name).
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? It's fine if that's what someone wants to do but I have no urge to do this.

Nope.
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb?
Whatevs.
10. Do you like DH's name?
Sure, but it's ending there. He wanted to originally name our first son (providing we have one) after him (he is named after his Dad), I said no way jose. I am not into the following family names.
1. what are your favorite girl names? So many...a few are Sofia, Ava, Madelyn, Isabella, Samantha. I also really like a variety of eastern European names (I guess it comes from my heritage) and what DH calls "old fashioned" names. It's always been easier for me to come up with girl names I like.
2. favorite boy names? Benjamin, James, Nicholas, Vincent, Anthony
3. have they always been your favorites? Pretty much
4. do you like your name? Yes, for the most part
5. if not, what do you wish it was? When I was little I always wished my name ended in an "a" or something so it'd sound more girly.
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy? No clue. All I know is that my Dad wanted to name me the same name as my Mom. I already share her middle name, I don't need her first name too!
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand? I like the name Charlotte (don't think I'd actually use it though), but DH's ex-FI had that name so it's automatically out LOL
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? A lot of names I like don't sound good with DH's last name, so they'll be nixed. I'm annoyed that a lot of the names I like are now popular, but what can you do.
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? I'm not a fan if it's done on purpose. If it just works out that way, that's different.
10. Do you like DH's name? Yes, but he doesn't. His name is pretty unusual so it's always been messed up by others as he grew up.1. what are your favorite girl names? I'm with Veruca-I like those names... old fashioned ones, too... Eva, Emma, Charlotte, Elizabeth, very girly names
2. favorite boy names? Noah, Jacob, Joshua (more Biblical, but not on purpose)
3. have they always been your favorites?Yeppers!
4. do you like your name? I always wished it were Lorelai or Loretta so I could have Lori as my nickname. Lor just doesn't cut it.
5. if not, what do you wish it was? See above
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy? N/a-they figured I was a girl...
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand? Cody-day care kid that bit
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? no
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? with THAT many kids?! dumb.
10. Do you like DH's name? First name is 'eh'. Middle name is pretty cool...

6. what would your name have been if you were a boy? see #5
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand?Jonah. I used to work with a notoriously b*tchy woman named Joan.
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? Yes, usually the ones I like become super popular in a few years and then I don't like them anymore. And new last name is one syllable, so that eliminates some.
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? I'm a victim of this - everyone except my mom had initials KK. My dad is actually KKK lol!
10. Do you like DH's name? Yes, but he doesn't. It's Tyler, he wishes it was just Ty or Emerson
1. what are your favorite girl names? Sadie James (DUH!)

8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? umm...kinda. DH wants a III, but i am desperately trying to talk him out of it! what jewish boy do you know with a middle name of Jesus?!?!
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? Cute! but not sure it'll happen!
10. Do you like DH's name? for him yes... for our child NO!!!
1. what are your favorite girl names? Sophie
2. favorite boy names? Lucca
3. have they always been your favorites? Nope, I used to love the name Sarah and then met a girl with the name I couldn't stand. That ruined it for me lol.
4. do you like your name? It's ok but so common
5. if not, what do you wish it was? I've never wished it to be anything else
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy? Probably Gary because my dad is a junior and would have made me a 3rd
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand? Lol...answered above -- Sarah.
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? Not really. But I do want to name our children something not common, so if I name I liked was very common, I'd probably like it less.
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? Meh, I think it's silly but w/e floats your boat. When Dh and I picked names we liked, for boys and girls, it just so happened that 2 of the names had the same letter and the other 2 names had the same letter.
10. Do you like DH's name? Yes, very much.
1. what are your favorite girl names? Isabella, Gabriella, Olivia and Kate
2. favorite boy names? Joshua, Benjamin and Conner
3. have they always been your favorites? yes
4. do you like your name? I do now. I didn't growing up because it was not common and you couldn't buy a personalized license plate for your bicycle! My dad named me and now that he is gone I realize what a gift my name is because it is a great memory of my dad.
5. if not, what do you wish it was? when I was a kid I always wanted the name Samantha. not sure why though
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy? don't really know but am sure it would have been a more common normal name like both my brothers have.
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand? can't think of any
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? my favorites haven't changed but DH doesn't like most of them so wouldn't use those for our children
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? I don't prefer it but it doesn't really bother me if someone likes it
10. Do you like DH's name? it is ok but won't be naming a son after him
I'm bored. Here's a poll.
1. what are your favorite girl names? I like a lot of girl names... If we have a girl, her name will be Julia Marie
2. favorite boy names? N and I don't agree on many boy names. If we have a boy, his name will be Andrew Raul (called Drew)
3. have they always been your favorites? No :P
4. do you like your name? Yes, as common as it is
5. if not, what do you wish it was?
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy? James Andrew
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand? Many, so I won't list them. N has a big list of names he doesn't like as well, which comes from being a teacher... One of my fave boy names is Ethan, and he had an Ethan in class who he couldn't stand
.
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? just personal taste and popularity, I guess
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? Duggar style in general is dumb, IMO. But if you only have 2 kids and you want to give them the same first initial, I say go for it.
10. Do you like DH's name? Yes. It's Edward, which I'm not that huge a fan of, but he goes by Ned, which reminds me of Ned Nickerson - Nany Drew's boyfriend
. I always loved those books.
1. what are your favorite girl names?
Adele, Casey, Joanie, Samantha, Nicole
2. favorite boy names?
John, Sam, Owen, Eddie
3. have they always been your favorites?
in one form or another
4. do you like your name?
No - Jennifer is way too popular - AND my sister got all the grandmother/ family names in hers (Mary,Ann, and Helen) and I got the generic popular name of 1982...my middle name is Joan
5. if not, what do you wish it was?
Casey Joan
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy?
John Casey (or casimir) - see the girl name I wish I had...I wonder why my parent's just didn't flip it - they were convinced I was a boy, so never talked about girl names until after I arrived
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand?
not really - some names I used to like got nixed b/c of people I have met along the way, but none that I "can't stand"
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc?
I can't name my potential son John (my dad's name) because DH is a Jonathon (Jon) and it would end up as this weird Jr. or just constant misspelling thing - so John will have to be a middle name.
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb?
not necessary - if it happens to work out, fine, but I think 19 kids with the same letter is a little wacky.
10. Do you like DH's name?
I do - it is a classic combo (except that the spelling is "off" by a letter from the typical)
TTC #1 13 cycles, CP 6/09, TTC #2 1 cycle

1. what are your favorite girl names? Sonora
2. favorite boy names? Grayson

4. do you like your name? Yup
5. if not, what do you wish it was?
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy? Gregory David
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand? Hmm...none that come to mind.
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc? If we were to ever have children, I would definately try and choose a name that wasn't uber popular at that time.
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb? Makes me laugh. Especially when it involves changing the traditional spelling of a name to make it fit the letter.
10. Do you like DH's name? Yup--"Patrick" suits him and it relates to his Irish heritage, which I think is cool.
1. what are your favorite girl names?
Fern, Maeve, Eliza, Ainslie, Joan
2. favorite boy names?
James, Arlo
3. have they always been your favorites?
No.
4. do you like your name?
Yes, it's awesome. In fact part of my problem with names is I don't like very many as much as I like mine.
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy?
Douglas, which is my little brother's name. It's my mom's maiden name.
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand?
Not really.
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc?
Maeve is probably out because my cousin named his daughter Maeve. I've liked it for almost a decade and when he chose it I was like, "Nooooooooooooooooooooooo." We're not close, but it's not a very common name so I would feel weird using it too. James, I'm divided on. It's both our father's names but there's a tradition of using a certain middle name with the first son and I refuse to give our son J's dad exact name. I love him, but there's a lot about him I don't like as a person so it would be too weird.
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb?
not necessary - if it happens to work out, fine, but I think 19 kids with the same letter is a little wacky. I agree. I think it's a little weird and contrived. Like, "Well, I wanted to name you Pam because you look like a Pam, but since everyone else has J names I guess you're Jessica!"
10. Do you like DH's name? It's fine, but too common for my tastes.
Since we are currently working on the name debate at our house, this is timely!
1. what are your favorite girl names?
Charlotte, Caroline, Catherine, Emmaline, Emily, Susannah
2. favorite boy names?
Phillip, Matthew, Noah, Andrew, Tucker
3. have they always been your favorites?
Some yes, some no. I've always been drawn to more traditional or classic names.
4. do you like your name?
Yes. I never met anyone with my name that was my age and when I got to 7th grade there were 4 girls with variations on the spelling/pronounciation.
5. if not, what do you wish it was?
N/A
6. what would your name have been if you were a boy?
They had talked about Troy Alan. But I think it would have been Justin Alan (my little brother's name).
7. are there any names you would like if they didn't remind you of a person you can't stand?
Not really - some names I used to like got nixed b/c of people I have met along the way, but none that I "can't stand"
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc?
Yes- I wanted a little girl named Catherine Grace, but ILs got a dog 5 years ago and named her "Gracie". I took the name Grace off my name list. (J thinks it would be perfectly fine to use the name Grace. I disagree!)
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb?
It's contrived. Esp. when you start using cre8tiv spelling to adhere to the 'rule' (i.e. Jinger)
10. Do you like DH's name?
Yes and no. I like the combo of his first and middle, (John Andrew) but the repetition of John in our last name bothers me. My ILs are terrible namers. If he had been a girl he'd have been "Alicia Vera" which I think is awful.
1. what are your favorite girl names?
Emma, Bridgette, Brennan, Chloe, Athena
2. favorite boy names?
William, Lukas, Mathieu, Ian, Ryan

I have a lot since I work in pediatrics. It's pretty bad.
8. Have any of your favorites changed because of popularity, family members, new last name, etc?
DH wanted "Emma Kylie" but Kylie had to be scratched bc Kylie is my sisters married name with a different spelling
9. Naming all your children similarly/with the same first letter (Duggar style), cute or dumb?
for us not going to work, not having a bunch of "E" names. Plus my niece and nephew are the same letter.
10. Do you like DH's name?
yup "Justin" totally suits him and his middle name is his dad's
