Our best man's little brother and a dear friend of ours died last night in a gun fight in Afghanistan. He was 22 and a sniper in the US Marine Corp. Please say a prayer for his family as they are taking it really hard.
Re: Sad News
I have no words... I am so sorry. I will be praying for the family and friends who are impacted by this death.
MY BLOG!
That's tough. T's and P's.
His first name is Claudio. We called him Ne-Ne though.
I come from a military family, and this poem was always recited to help put things into perspective and remind us that we must carry on for our loved ones from here:
The young dead soldiers do not speak.Nevertheless, they are heard in the still houses:
who has not heard them?
They have a silence that speaks for them at night
and when the clock counts.
They say: We were young. We have died.
Remember us.
They say: We have done what we could
but until it is finished it is not done.
They say: We have given our lives but until it is finished
no one can know what our lives gave.
They say: Our deaths are not ours: they are yours,
they will mean what you make them.
They say: Whether our lives and our deaths were for
peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot say,
it is you who must say this.
We leave you our deaths. Give them their meaning.
We were young, they say. We have died; remember us.by Archibald MacLeish,
1892-1982, American Poet
I'm sure there are no words to console you right now, but you are in my thoughts.

Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. We went over to his parents house last night and while it was sad, there were so many family members and friends in the house, front yard and back yard. We were all reminiscing, crying and laughing. Neighbors were bringing over food and chairs for everyone to sit on.
He was so loved and that is evidenced by all of the people that were there last night. He is definitely my hero.
