Re: For Mames
Bwhaha, I love this.
SOOO true. I want to rip my eyeballs out every time I witness this. Why does the public school system fail so many?

I could argue it's accurate.
Quotation marks may be applied to words being used in a special sense?for example, Robert is a ?priest? of grammar. (Of course, the Grammar Goddess would prefer the term ?so-called priest?!) In this particular case, words used as words may also be italicized.

This drives me crazy.
This made me laugh. I mess up grammar sometimes, but am actually quite crazy about making sure I have my your and you're correct (just like their and there).
PS. Mamie, I can't read your blog and see your fab grammar. Can you add me to the invite list?
Leigha - yep, you're right there. Since there were so many word references, the author should have done italics. I agree that the quotation marks make things way too cluttered.
Keb - invited! If anyone else needs a blog invite, let me know. I had to close it down for a bit because of my job interview.

Thanks Mames. I needed my weekly grammar and fashion fix
Haha. Sadly I've been in a blogging lull, but I am prepping a super cool fashion (non OOTD) post for when this whole interview process is over!

I would also argue that the graph is meaningless. Do the large circles represent proper usage of the words? Frequency of their use? Occurrence? Just labeling the overlap of the venn diagram does not identify what the larger areas mean.
IT'S THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS, SBS!

Wait, did SBS make the graph or find it on this website?

Because I wouldn't have been so harsh if she made it, but it still needs more clarity.
Found it.
But yes, the graph is poorly designed.
