Mom's come in! I have a ??

I'm just hitting 13 weeks and have a visible baby bump. I can feel my ute migrating up too. Here's my question, I am soooooo uncomfortable. I can feel my skin stretching and things moving around and growing. Is it going to be like this constantly for the next 6 months? There is just a bunch of pressure and it feels wierd. I can feel the weight of everything in there and noticed it's even started throwing my balance off every now and then. Will I ever get used to this? It's just so strange and feels so wierd!!

  • It'll come and go and some weeks you'll have new strange feelings. Every pregnancy is different from what I hear some people will skate through with no real ailments or weird feeings while others will have every one in the books each week. I had crazy itchy legs and my leg felt like it was going to detach from mynpelvis also I had weird back and shoulder pain on and off a few weeks. All worth it though :)
  • Its been a LONG time since I was pregnant (8 years last Sunday) but I remember the skin stretching sucked. It seems like it only lasted a few weeks each trimester. Pammy is right though, every week you will get new different feelings and everyone is different. I never had any pain in my ribs but my friend had pain so bad they put her on pain meds. My hips didnt really hurt too bad until the last 3 weeks or so, but my back felt strained at the end of gaining each 7-8 pounds. I can tell you that I am very clumsy and I was off balence a lot for the last 2 months. At SIL's shower last weekend she actually walked right into me with her belly totally forgetting how big she was getting. She said she does it all the time. But shes used to being a size 2, now shes a basketball smuggler and she walks into stuff all the time. Shes a nurse and is always bumping into people with her belly. I think its cute because I have a strange obsession with pregnant bellies, but other people may not feel that way.
  • Yep, just like the ladies said you'll have all kinds of weird feelings! These will probably go away soon and be replaced by something else that feels odd Big Smile

  • I was really uncomfortable right at first.  I thought I was crazy to be so uncomfortable so early, but it was really true for sure.  It seemed like when I started getting a bump my back hurt pretty bad, but now that my body has adjusted to having a belly, I haven't felt as bad.  Some days I don't even feel that pregnant.  I am trying to soak up feeling good because I know I am not far from hitting the third tri and being back to feeling tired/achy.

  • Cool, thanks for all the answers. I figured whether or not I could feel my tummy stretching and feeling uncomfortable wasn't going to be in a pregnancy book. I've had a pretty easy pregnancy, thus far, but just get so uncomfortable sometimes. I couldn't sleep at all last night because of all the pressure. I'm thinking since this is the week where things start moving and migrating, I'm just going to be uncomfortable for a while. And lol Skiz about your sister and her belly. That is so freaking cute!

I feel like theres a lot of things they dont tell you in these books! I ended up googling so much to see if other women had the same experiences. And again everyone has different experiences so who knows what to expect. For me...pregnancy was fairly easy except for minor aches, pains, cravings...labor was unbelievably easy...it was the aftermath that bothered me more than anything! I was in more pain/discomfort from the episiotomy/stitches than I was during the whole actual labor part and also since i was formula feeding when my boobs got engorged holy hell i wanted to rip them off lol. No one told me it would be like that and i figured the hard part would have been the actual labor.
