Old t-shirts!
Do you or your husband have old t-shirts that you need to get rid of but just haven't? Old towels that need to go but you haven't cleaned out that cabinet in forever?
Send them to me! I am going to use them with my summer school students. We will be cutting them up into appropriate sizes and sending the cut up pieces to the Gulf Coast for help in cleaning up the animals who have been affected by the spill. Even before the spill occurred, one of my planned units was ocean life and this really ties in nicely with what we are going to do. My students will learn measuring skills and also take on an eco lesson and community service experience through this project.
