teeth whitening @ salons

I remember a seeing a teeth whitening process at a bridal show a few years back. It was via light rays ( I believe). It was about a 30 min process and the demonstators said that booths should be popping up in salons. I really want to get my and DHs teeth whitened and I think this process would be the best for us but now I can't find any info. Does anyone know about this or any other quick  (one day) teeth whitening process?

Re: teeth whitening @ salons

  • I am not sure what you are thinking of, but honestly I think Crest White Strips work great.  The dentist recommended I try them and I do them about every 12-18 months.  It isn't a one-day treatment, but it is only a half hour in the morning at in the evening.  For the price I think it is worth it.

  • I agree w/ pp that Crest White Strips aren't an immediate fix but they work great.  I believe you can use them up to twice a day (or you used to be able to) but they are worth it.  GL!

  • And while I was thinking about it, the last time I went to Tri-County Mall they had a station set up for the teeth whitening w/ light.  It was right outside of Rogers Jewelers on the 1st floor.  I don't remember the name but it might be what you are looking for.

  • I would do plenty of reading and talking to your dentist prior. I know my teeth are very sensitive, so my dentist gave me a solution prior to my wedding to use. i have known a few people to do salon treatments and they "over whiten" making their teeth almost look odd. Just do some reading and research the company prior to just showing up.

  • Sinclair CC here in Dayton has a dental hygienist program.  You can get super cheap dentist quality whitening at the clinic.  I wonder if one of the schools in Cincy has something similar.

  • I work for a dental office and do not reccomend at all going to a salon to get your teeth whitened! The people that do the actual whitening have no real dental training. I use crest strips all the time and that is enough for me- if you really want to whiten teeth, talk to your dentist, he'll be able to sell you strips that are of a higher concentrate then if you went to Kroger (example, no place other then a dental office is allowed to sell whitening greater then 5 %- my office has strips that are 10%) If you want more, then your denist should be able to make a custom whitening tray that you put the bleach in yourself and can do at home.. or you can also do the Zoom whitening which is an in office procedure that takes an hour to do. Thos are more expensive so I would try the strips and see how you like them. HTH.
