Earthquake

Anyone else feel the earthquake this afternoon? Apparently, it occured in Ontario/Quebec. We felt it here in metro Detroit. It was real light shaking, but we were all wondering in our office what was going on. It was the first one I've ever felt and I have zero interest in feeling one again!

I guess people felt it here in Cincinnati. I didn't feel a thing. Hope everyone is OK

  • Yep, felt it here in Buffalo too.
  • I'm disappointed that I left detroit yesterday!! I just want to feel a little one once, and I just missed my chance.
  • We felt it all the way up here in Bay City! The local news is making a big deal about it, but it wasn't nothing to be impressed with. I guess it was felt better in the Saginaw and south area...

Your wanting to experience even a small earthquake is like my wanting to experience a snowy Winter - just once. Stick out tongue Haha. Come to CA and stay a while, I'm sure you'll feel one.

Everyone on FB keeps saying that we had an earthquake (even on random nest boards).  I don't think they realize WE didn't have an earthquake.  But I didn't feel anything either.

    Visit The Nest!
  • I'm not in an area that would have felt it, but I never feel earthquakes anyway. :( Except that big one (you really can't miss a 7.2 with 5-6 4+ aftershocks all in one day).  I swear people on FB would be posting about feeling an earthquake and I wouldn't have felt a thing even if I had been sitting still on the couch all night.  Then I felt that big one... and I don't care to ever feel another one again, thanks.
  • Ummm can we talk about how freaky it is that there have been tons of earthquakes recently...

  • I've seen it all over facebook from my friends back home in Syracuse, NY.  Crazy.  And we got huge storms here (DC area) last night.  Amanda (totally spacing on her Nestie name at the moment) lost power for a bit, and she's only a couple miles away!
  • The earthquake was felt here in MA & CT too. I personally didn't feel it, but it's all over the news...
  • Didn't feel anything up-north in Traverse City... but I've never felt one so not sure if I'd even notice! Does seem like there's been a lot more natural disasters in the past few years... but MI doesn't really see much of it...

I'm not sure how much of this is more natural disasters, and how much of it is information spreading much more quickly and everyone having access to information from all over the world.

  • I heard about this how I hear about everything (facebook).  Was anyone injured??
