S/O: Who was your wedding photographer?

Re: S/O: Who was your wedding photographer?

  • Tomiko Gumbleton Photography in Ferndale.  She took some excellent photos, but was way slow with communicating and getting our albums to us.

  • We used someone my H knew, Bernie Langlois.  He was cheap.  Just remember that you get what you pay for.  Wink  They all sucked but I guess it doesn't matter anyway.  Stick out tongue
  • We got married in MN, before I was a photographer - we had Alan Johnson.  He's good, a little traditional.  I would chose differently now ;)

  • a friend of the family. They turned out fine, a couple spectacular shots and a few so-so. But really we never look at them so it doesn't matter anyway ;-)
  • I had 2 b/c the one I wanted to use ended up as a groomsmen.

I had Sarah Ables do pics before, during and some after the wedding.

William Hebert took our couple and family shoots.

  • Amy Carroll - she was amazing.  I put together a few of them on a website if you wanna take a peak!

  • We used a local photographer up north where we got married.  He was good and overall, I'm happy with the photos.  His style was extremely traditional, though.  We didn't have much to choose from as far as local photographers.  If I were to do it all over again, I think I might import a "downstate" photographer who has a fresher, more journalistic style.

Our wedding was in 2004 and we had film as well.  I don't really play the "would we do it differently" game because it was six years ago.  I still love our photos, but they aren't as modern or trendy as what's out there now.  How could they be?  We loved the photos then and love them still.

  • I used a local photographer, goes by Chris G, who does his own photography & graphics business and did entertainment photography for Taps and others. Anyways he used a 2nd shooter and also did video taping. Well the pictures turned out fine, but he never got a shot of my grandfather walking me down the aisle. Also we never got the video of advice or the ceremony either. I guess that he also got into it with some businesses in GR, took off, and then came back under a different business name. That's what I hear. Atleast we have pics from the ceremony and everything. Just the video and pic of not with grandfather down the aisle ticks me off.

  • Larson Photography did ours-- and they did an amazing job.

Mitch Ranger just shot my cousin's wedding, and I was really impressed with him too.

  • We had Brooks Reynolds do our photos- he was just starting out in wedding photography (but had done photography in other areas) and I think we were his second or third wedding.  It worked out for us b/c we could never afford him now- he's too good!  I love love love our wedding photos and brag on our photographer whenever I get the chance (like now!).

  • We used Imaging Art Photography which is out of Lake Odessa. Ramell did a great job, I just wish she posted the pics online so everyone could see them.
  • We went with Jen Kroll too.

On the morning of our wedding, she found out she was expecting her second child.  Awwww...

  • We used William Courtright Photography out of Clare I believe it was.  He didn't actually take our photos due to a heart attack..He was ok though!  Thank goodness.  But the man that filled in for him...Not so good.

I wish I would have known about Sara Blossom.  She is incredible!
