I'm sitting here, enjoying my first cup of coffee for the day, and feeling grateful that I have a drip machine so I don't have to use the icky instant powder crap that most Aussies do. French presses are making inroads here though, so I'm thinking of picking up one of those - decisions, decisions!

Re: poll: mmmm...coffee
Oooooh good question! Hmm, I don't know. I wouldn't count it as instant...I think I'd still call it a drip, even though it's a special one.
And I'm the exact same way about my coffee! You can tell I'm not a true coffee connoisseur because I won't drink it unless it's loaded up with milk and sugar lol.
I could spend a fortune on lattes so I got a cheapie espresso machine with a wedding gift card. I use it every day. It saves me a ton of money buying coffee out and it truly is my treat to start the day off right (especially if I add a little tequila creamer).
And I *love* that me = fancypants!
Mine is simple. You fill the beans and water like twice a week and just push a button when you want a coffee. Then it tells you when it needs to be cleaned and you just open it up, take out the tray, dump any water in the tray and throw the hockey pucks in the garbage. Voila. Amazing.
I have a drip machine for everyday, and a french press that I rarely use. I still haven't got the hang of using it without drinking some of the grounds.
I'd love to have an espresso machine, but it's not possible now. We don't have enough counter space, with my other kitchen gadets all over. Maybe when we buy a house
We also purchased a Keurig from Costco probably during last winter or so. LOVE it! Its easy to use and its super quick. No major cleaning involved. Just fill the water chamber whenever it runs low and I wipe it down every once in a while. My favorite blend to use is Kona Blend. Yummmm.
I love coffee. Love the smell and the taste. On the weekends, we'll use our favorite coffee for french press.
I love Hawaii!

I actually don't drink coffee anymore unless it's the weekend, I'm straight tea all the time.
I only drink coffee on the weekends now, I like to think of it as a treat for me since I like to make my coffee full of cream and sugar so it's not something I can drink everyday or else I would be bigger than I already am!

Me = Whatevs, peasant! I don't make my coffee, I BUY it.
not because I have the disposable income (actually the coffee habit annoys MH) but b/c I'm lazy. I often get free coffee coupons through work so that helps...
I have a drip machine and a bodum french press at home (and kuireg (sp?) at work) so I really have no excuse other than I'm lazy and maybe I really enjoy steamed milk? I get a nonfat latte (no sweetner) so it's not even like I'm a sugar fiend.
We have a drip machine and I LOVE coffee! My intake has seriously increased since having Elyse.
When our pot died a few weeks ago I nearly cried. Russ had to run out to Tim Hortons before I could function for the day.

I don't drink coffee but I make coffee for DH. Does that count? LOL
THIS!!! We used to have a drip machine with espresso maker but it broke. We bought a French press and DH swears by it! He says the coffee tastes much better. Our first french press broke (dunno where DH got it) so I got him a Bodum one.
I am a classic with a drip machine too, but only use it on weekends. My DH does not even drink the stuff. Though during the week it's Keurig at work. I like a medium blend, but I have to go for the strongest Kenya, to get the taste just right.
I've been strongly considering buying a french press lately (and all the glowing reviews here are making me think I might pick one up this weekend!) but this is a concern for me. Does a certain grind of bean help?
I'm not sure to be honest, I've never had any of the grounds in my coffee cup. We do have a burr grinder though and we use a course grind. Actually, I just found this link, it suggests using a courser grind so that the grounds don't seep through.
Sorry, my Mac won't let me post an actual link properly - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_press

LOVE coffee and used to have it in french press at home, or use the drip machine, espresso maker, k-cup thingy, whatever was at work.
Now, I can't drink it anymore but I have had herbal coffee. It's not the same AT ALL but it's not bad either. Sometimes I sneak a soy latte or coffee misto on Fridays when I don't have to get to sleep at a certain time.
If I were a serious coffee drinker, I think I would buy a fancypants espresso machine.
