How is everyone today?
Storms yesterday were not an over exageration on behalf of the weather service, that's for sure!
We were driving home on the expressway and ran into a flooded viaduct. We were in the left lane and the very front of the line. We had the Murano, so DH watched other cars pass us on the shoulder to see them go through and get an idea of how deep it was. At first it was crazy bigger SUV/Jeeps that went through and then a car. We both looked at each other and said if the car made it through, we should too. DH starts going, changed his mind and starts to back up. By then, the cars behind us inched up a bit and we were basically stuck in the rapidly rising water. DH then says well, we might as well try to get through, we are stuck in the water anyways. He waits for some more cars/suvs to go through and goes behind a large SUV to ride through their wake to lower the amount of water exposure. Thankfully, we made it through. I think if we waited a few more minutes, we wouldn't have. I read in the paper this morning that the place we were at was still flooded as of 10 pm last night.
So that was my adventure! To think I wasn't supposed to be at work yesterday but went it. I'm kind of glad I did or else DH would have had the escort and not make it through that water. Then again, we left late because I needed to finishe something up, so he could have been ok.
Re: Happy Thursday
That's scary Mel! I had to go through a really flooded area once in my parents' Explorer Sport Trac and was scared to death. I hate floods.
I have to leave in about an hour and a half to go to a meeting that will last probably all afternoon.
Wow Mel, that's super scary! I'm glad you are okay.
I was in the middle of a kickboxing class when some director came in and told us we all had to get downstairs because there was a funnel cloud that was spotted in the next town over. It was SO scary because I didn't have my cell and they wouldn't let anyone leave until it passed. Thank god we are all okay over here but I still haven't stopped shaking.
I'm glad you ladies are all okay!
My head is spinning right now I have so much crap to deal with. I have 3 commercial estimates that have to be done today (2 by 2pm). The one was done but they added and then I found a $20000 mistake on my part...thank god I caught that! The other is for a school and the plans weigh about 50lbs and are 12" thick...this should be fun! Better get back to it. I just needed to quit looking at them for a minute. My eyes were starting blend everything together. Have a great day ladies!
