Mrs Skiz

I have always loved Phish (DH doesn't seem to care so much for them, lol).  I didn't know they still toured- where are you going to see them?  I'm so jealous!!!

Re: Mrs Skiz

  • They actually broke up for a while. 5-7 years maybe. Then they came back last spring and DH goes to every show he can. He actually went to Upstate NY last weekend for 2 shows. We are going to Camden, NJ for the shows tonight and tomorrow then to The Merriwether Post Pavilion Saturday night.

Our first dance was to the song Waste by Phish, which of course all his collage buddies loved.

I hated them when I first started listening to them and DH promised me that once I went to a show I would be hooked. It took me a long time to finally say ok I will go, but to 1 show. I went the first night nervous as all get out about all the dirty druggie hippies and i was delightfully suprised at how many "normal" looking people were there. As I was dancing all over the place DH's BFF leaned over and told me that he had already bought me a ticket for the next night because he knew that I would only have to see one to want to go to another one. So glad he did. Im totally hooked and I have an all new outlook on the band and all their music. Try to convince Dave to go to a show if not for the music to people watch. That is one of the best parts.

I have to say, I have never seen them live, just had CDs and loved the music.  I saw a band do a great job of covering them but it was in one of the cafeterias in college so it was very tame as far as people weren't stoned, doing crazy dancing around or anything like that.

I'm sure Dave would go if I asked him, I will just have to find a time when they're playing relatively close or somewhere travelable on a weekend.

When you say upstate NY, you probably mean closer to NYC, right?  Any idea if they venture further west to the southern tier area?  That would be doable for me, especially if I could stay at my parents'.  I did check out the tour dates after I saw that you were going this weekend and I don't think there's anything doable this time around.

Oops, nvm.  I just went back to look at the tour dates again and saw they'll be in Canandaigua and that they were in Saratoga Springs.  Too bad Canandaigua is on a Tuesday...

Thanks, now I'm going to be on a tour watch for them!!!!  Too bad we're not closer to each other; I'd say let's meet up for a concert.

  • Hey my people will travel far and wide for a Phish show. They will put out the fall tour dates soon so we should take a look at locations.

Ok!!!  Let me know when the dates and cities are announced.  If you guys are watching for it, you'll definitely see before I will!
